I was about to sign up with PlusNet but it turns out that they hike the bill up by >£20pm after the contract ends. The point being you'll negotiate onto another fixed term with them.

I don't want that. I don't want to have to negotiate insurance, broadband, utility, prices etc. every year. I'm at a good place with my car insurance and mobile where I have renewals/rolling contracts that are +/- 5% off the best I can find on comparison websites. I'm after the same for broadband:

I'm looking for a broadband provider that will offer a reasonable price and, when the contract ends, keep to a similar(ish) price. I don't care if it works out a bit more expensive than renewing frequently. I'd rather pay £30pm for eternity than negotiate every year/18m to get £20-25pm.

    Thanks!

I understand what you mean. Your best bet is probably from the following:
    1. "NoOne" - (Full Fibre FTTP only) which offer rolling, 12 month or 24 month contracts at fixed prices which vary depending on CityFibre or Openreach availability at the property.
    2. Zybre - (Full Fibre FTTP) via Openreach for 12 month contracts
    3. Pulse8 - for (FTTC) rolling 30 day contracts
    4. Giganet - for FTTP via Openreach with fixed prices for 24 months
    5. Cuckoo - (for FTTC or Full Fibre FTTP) at Openreach properties on rolling 30 day contracts, or 12 month contracts at Fixed price.
If you use the address checkers on those, it should show you the packages available at the address. Those ones have fixed prices, so don't increase prices in April (unlike BT, Plusnet, TalkTalk, Vodafone etc). As for after the contract, usually they move to the rolling price afterward which moves down given the wholesale cost going down. Cuckoo for instance state that you are moved onto the new customer price automatically. So you won't get the increase in price when any contract ends like you do with BT for instance.
