Morning all, I was late getting up today, good job I'm retired and I've done my bit on the "going to work"
Yesterday turned out to be lovely so I spent most of the day in the garden. The patio is now void of most of it's weeds and the really stubborn ones have been sprayed. I've also got rid of the moss which collects on there from under the trees. Mr Fix It tried to help me but his physical health is not what it was and he had to give up and napped twice yesterday.
Today I want to attack my metal patio table and get it ready for painting, as do the chairs, but the table top needs sorting out first. Some kind soul painted it previously and it looks like the map of the Andes, it has lumps and bumps everywhere, Mr Fix It will never make a painter 😂
Poppy Happy birthday, hope you have a great day 🎈🎂
Yorkslass I too have an upstairs vacuum and a downstairs one, I've had them like that for years mainly because I'm so clumsy and I'm afraid of falling down/up the stairs. I'm even likely to trip over my own feet 🦶 these days 🙄
Apologies to everyone I've missed today, I'm not firing on all cylinders.
Take care all. Hugs to the poorly ones and those having problems with family or work.
nan xx

Afternoon everyone
Just catching up with a cuppa while little one is sleeping - DD will pick her up about 3.30. I woke about 2am and she had climbed on top of me and was lying fast asleep! I had a job moving her over.
She pottered with her toys this morning while I made a big pot of soup and did my ironing - she ended up running round naked with a tea towel tied round her neck shouting 'Watch out I'm a super hero I'll save the day!'
Had youngest cat to take to the vets for his booster this morning - it cost £71!
DD picked us up - little one came in and said to the vet ' can I just borrow your stethoscope please?' I explained she's spent lots of time in hospital so knows her medical equipment. He let her listen to Felix's heartbeat so she was happy.
It was foggy here again till about half an hour ago but the sun is trying now.
Well I'm going to have a browse. Take care everyone - happy birthday Poppy x11 -
Afternoon all
Back home this afternoon from a few days away in SW Scotland. Weather was lovely, sunny and warm. Shame it's not as nice back home, several degrees cooler and a whole lot cloudier as well. Still, it was nice to get away for a few days.
Sorry to hear work is difficult for you Coxy and Ruby. Was in the same boat myself recently but have managed to secure a new position internally. It's a secondment but better than staying in my current role which just isn't for me (neither is the management!)
Nothing in for dinner so it's a freezer dive for me I think. Will go shopping tomorrow I think.

A late afternoon all, from me. It's a beautiful day here, blue skies, fluffy white clouds and a warm breeze.
I've been to the hairdressers today for my "summer" cut and I feel tons better for it. Next, to the PO to pay some cash into my winter squirrel fund - yay! - then back home for a pit stop before collecting DH's meds from the pharmacy that's in the opposite direction. There is a bus I could have got but it runs on teacake o'clock time and I wasn't sure what time it was due so it was easier to do it my way. I got DH a knee support while I was in the pharmacy and, as expected, he said I shouldn't have bothered. However, he is wearing it so fingers crossed it helps.
Lots more flowers to admire on my walk(s) and quite a few large bees appearing so it must be warming up. Wallflowers and sweet peas are my favourites, both for their varied colours and wonderful fragrance. I always think it's a pity that so many flowers have been hybrid'ed (is that a word?) for colour and shape at the expense of fragrance. It was so nice to be out and about without a coat and it was so warm I even took off my cardigan on the way home. Ooh er missus, bare flesh!
Pork & apple casserole with mash & veg is tonight's offering; it's in the SC and is smelling good. Not sure about afters but there's a choice if needed.I hope the doc was able to help you this morning Ruby.
G & T alfresco Gers! How decadent - but how lovely.
Partially broken snoozer - you’re going to meet yourself coming back, at this rate!
Happy Birthday poppy. I hope it was a good one.
I have parquet floor envy, bella. I bet it looks beautiful.
How cute is your little one, dp1, it made me smile. But ouch to the vet’s bill!
Have a good evening everyone. Thoughts with the poorly, worried, struggling or just plain fed up. X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
Glad you’re ok Florenceem7
