Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light and dry but cloudy, air is cooler too. I've been getting a wash load line dried each cay.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was fish and rice. Tonight will be chicken - not sure in what form as yet but it's defrosting in the fridge.
Yesterday work was busy again, today is my last working day of the week and then I'm off until Monday - so will enjoy my time off.
Keep safe and well x

Morning all
Dry and bright here but looks a bit chilli for now, yesterday turned out really nice in the afternoon.
Off to work for me, last working day of the week though which is nice, I have the Dr this morning too about my feet, typically the swelling has gone down quite a bit this morning but the pain is still there so hopefully he can give me some answers.
Chicken casserole for dinner tonight I will put it in the sc this morning and will cook some rice when I get in tonight, hopefully its quite low fat / calories.
We have had a few jobs done at mums white she has been in hospital, my brother started to paint the front door before he passed away and its been half done ever since so we have got a chap in to do that, also she has wooden counters in the kitchen which have never been re-oiled so he has done them too it looks much better, I have also arranged a gardener to come once a week and I am meeting a cleaner there tomorrow, we have no date yet for when she can come home but hopefully soon. I still need to go and change the bed for her as the other day i went I ended up spending hours cleaning and sorting her utility room and my sister did the kitchen, she needs it to be as clutter free as possible to try and prevent future falls.
Nels I hope you get to see mum today xxx
TA glad your friend is going well xx
Have good days all and take care xxx14 -
Morning everyone. Thanks for starting us off nmlc. It's not such a strange sunrise today although the sky is mostly blue. Yesterday was bright but with a chilly wind until early evening. At 5.45pm the power went off in my area affecting 90 properties. SSEN said it'd be back on by 9.00pm, it wasn't. Power came back just before midnight. 😱 Luckily, the evening was glorious. The wind dropped down to nothing and the sun was hot. I went out to post a letter and in the way dropped into the very elderly father of the chap up the hill to check on him. He was sitting on a hump of grass on a rocky outcrop by the big house enjoying the sunshine and looking out to the sea lock and Jura. 😆 After a brief chat I drove home, collected a bottle of gin, some tonics and glasses, went back to him and we sat together until about 8.00pm sharing the gin. Everything was so still and quiet apart from some very noisy geese. What a completely wonderful and unexpected way to spend an evening. It made me very happy, happier than I have been for a very long time.Today is another mystery tour. I'll pull together a mixed washing load to get out on the line and then decide what to do. I must get more focus into my life soon!
Thoughts to our poorlies and families. Happy Thursday to all.17 -

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Another glorious start with blue sky, sun and still no wind. But bloomin' heck it's cold! After a week of no CH I have succumbed to a quick burst this morning just to take the chill off. I want to strip the bed next and get the bedding washed and hung out. It should dry quickly with the sun on it.
RUBY I hope the Dr can sort you out and you can get some relief from your foot pain. GERS what a lovely evening that sounds. Why don't I have neighbours like that?!!
My grocery shop never happened yesterday after all! (No excuses so won't even look for one!) And I managed to get a slot for a delivery today. Due this morning and I have my fingers crossed there will be nothing oos or any silly subs. So whilst I wait in for that I shall do the usual pre-Friday Tidy of the Thursday kitchen and bathroom clean.
I got a text yesterday telling me my new specs are now ready to collect so after lunch I will nip into town to collect them. It will be lovely to be able to see properly again! My current ones flew off a while back when I got off the bus, removed my mask and stood on them! All within the space of about 2 seconds! They are now skewwhiff and one lens keeps steaming up. I'll go to the bank and pick up a few bits whilst down and then needn't bother going down on Saturday.
Have a lovely day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all our poorlies, poorly loved ones and fed up. NELS I hope DM finally got transferred yesterday. What a farce. Take care one and all and be safe xx

Hi everyone from a partially broken snoozer, I shall be so glad when this move has been completed. Yesterday was spent sorting out more storage and then we dashed down to London, we had dinner, took Ziggy and Esben for a walk and brought back the car packed with boxes. My legs are feeling sore this morning. Today Steve is playing golf so I shall whizz round cleaning and this afternoon we need to sort the loft which we didn't get round to yesterday. Then we need to take Tibs the cat back to Chris and Crystal's. The move was supposed to be happening on Friday but because of the removers cancelling at the last minute it is now happening on Sunday, just as well as they still have a frightening amount of packing to do. We will probably have to bounce between here and London quite a few times over the next couple of days, just as well the petrol shortage round here seems to be resolved. We have a few days in Yorkshire next week, we are going to see Johannes from Strictly's show in Blackpool and finally meeting up with Steve's BFF and his wife after having to cancel a few weeks ago. We are taking them for a meal to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary, which was actually 2 years ago but we never got to celebrate it. Gers, your evening sounds perfect. Have a good day.15

Morning everyone and thanks for the start nmlc.
We saw Operation Mincemeat at the cinema last night. Good film albeit a late night for us!
No need to go into the London office today as one boss is off and the other is WFH today - saving me £14. I applied for an external role yesterday. Latest slap in the face is the thought of having to input 79 in-year awards for other members of my department when I’m not getting one! Oh that’s right, I didn’t work on any interesting projects this year….okay…..TIME TO GO!
Will be cooking pulled pork in the slow cooker today. Will serve with sweet potato wedges and salad. Only DS2 and I for tea tonight as DH going to watch Think Floyd – tribute band. Means lots of LO pulled pork for the freezer, so happy days.
Good work at DMums Ruby – I’m sure she’ll be pleased to get back to her own home and have some regular help with things.
Lovely to hear you had a nice impromptu evening Gers – I bet your friend enjoyed it too x
Good luck with sorting the house snoozer - I'm exhausted just reading about all the trips. You will certainly need the break to Yorkshire next week x
Taff – oooh an art class, jealous! I would love to do a dressmaking course but nothing much around when I last looked. Might do that today!
Happy holidays ScarletR
Nels – hope DMum is now settled and you can visit at some point today. Thinking of you x
Hope you all have a good day.
Coxy

Morning all dog walked and fed Roofers are here today making good the ceilings in the downstairs bedroom and kitchen for the plasterer on Saturday . The floor looks lovely and i had a little cry as it took me back to my childhood its Rhodesian teak block parquet flooring my parents had it put down when we moved here 52 years ago but in the last 30 years it was carpeted over as the upkeep was too much for mum but things have changed and new products are around so i won't have to polish it like before .
Gers your evening sounds like heaven how lucky to have that wonderful view and neighbours
Ruby Good luck at the Dr's
Nels fingers crossed you can see mum today and the visit puts your mind at rest
Snoozer sounds like you are busier than ever hope all goes well with the move
Right better get on and get the last bits out of the bedroom not sure what's for dinner yet
Have a good day whatever you are up to hugs for all our poorly chums xxSlava Ukraini15 -
