As I was warned by the knowledgeable folks here, obviously it's been over 12 weeks and I have not heard anything about my review. Not even about needing an assessment. My award is due to end in September and I have not received a single communication from DWP. Should I be worried? What should I do next?
You can ring them and ask if they have extended your existing award.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

Apparently due to the new amount of claims, PIP planned reassessments are on hold, payments will continue. (I read this on another forum). I had my review forms last June, received an acknowledgement last Sept. from DWP to say they had received them, and I may need an assessment with a Health Care worker. I am still waiting!!!

My PIP was extended due to covid until April this year. Heard nothing and was panicking when the end date came, but PIP was still paid, 2 wks after the end date, I got a letter from DWP saying my payments would continue until I am assessed, better late than never, but it would have helped if this had been sent sooner.

That's not correct, reviews are not on hold, they have continued for quite sometime. They are concentrating on new claims more than reviews but reviews are definitely not on hold.

I read the following on another site, and probably misinterpreted it.

Changes in clearance volumes vary for different areas of the Department’s workload as workflows are actively managed to cope with capacity issues. Planned award reviews are currently on hold in some cases which frees up resource to process registrations in other parts of the process but delays clearances for the award reviews themselves. Any PIP claim where an award review is waiting to be processed continues to receive their pre-review level of benefit. Customers whose needs have changed and who are awaiting a review may instead register a change of circumstance

    Hi Everyone,

    Thank you for your comments!

I have been so stressed out I didn't want to deal with this! I finally got round to calling DWP and they are apparently processing reviews/applications from February now! I was told that my award would be extended until a decision is made.

Today I received a text saying that the DWP "still" have my review form. It is confusing when there is no consistency as when people receive text messages. I did not receive any acknowledgement when they received my review form. I asked if they would text or write to me to confirm that my PIP my continue until reviewed and I was told no. It is good to receive the text but when the system was already challenging to navigate, it does add to the anxiety of not knowing what needs to happen next in terms of process.

They have started sending out more texts with updates. They are indeed also sending out texts to tell people their awards have been extended due to the delays. If you were awarded by a Tribunal, then it maybe different because they don't always extend these awards.

Ah that's good to know, @po@poppy12345 thanks! As it happens, I was awarded by a Tribunal ...
