However, points 16 onwards are the same from the defence statement.
Not too sure that's a good idea.
    Particularly this bit...
Okay I will remove that. Thank you
The point is a Statement of Truth at the end of a Witness Statement should use the words Witness Statement rather than Defence.
Apart from that there is nothing wrong with your Statement of Truth.

You need to use the example WS by @aphex007 for the second half.
Thanks for a prompt reply. Are you referring to this one here:

    Thank you :)
No idea.  He obviously updated his WS in his thread once or twice as he got advice, and as long as you read his thread from start to finish and found his latest version then that is it.
    okay. Thank you

Okay. I see what the error is now. Thanks, I will rectify that.

"Thanks for a prompt reply. Are you referring to this one here:

I don't know what you are looking at but the claimant is completely different to the case you were advised.
    This is the actual WS:-

Happy new year to all the forum members. I have run into an issue. Could someone please help. My WS is due on 3rd January and hearing is on 30th January. Due to a family emergency, I need to travel out of country. How could I ask the court to give me some extra time and thus giving me a new hearing date and the WS submission deadline. @Coupon-mad

Quite simply you wont. Unless making an application with a fee.

    Yep - you can't.

You must email your WS bundle to the local court and Claimant's solicitor in good time (that means now).  Adapt the bundle by @aphex007 which most people here (with no court experience, same as you) manage to do in one evening.

And in your email to court tell them if you will be away on 30th and ask to join the hearing remotely instead.  Ask the court to send you a link to a CVP meeting or to confirm you can attend by phone.

If you do not tell them you will be away and make efforts to attend remotely by video or phone, you are not only likely to lose but will also get clobbered with the other side's £200 legal rep's fee on top, for your unreasonableness in not turning up.

A bad a bad day in court for VCS today, this chap won his case.
The judge ruled that stopping was permitted in the bye laws and the child in distress was considered an emergency, so he dismissed the case.
And that was despite VCS claiming there were no bye laws in place.
