Nice one @Coupon-mad, I was a bit concerned that the reason given was not really an emergency but your suggestion should do the job admirably.

Much better - but I don't like your reason for stopping. Not OK.

    Change:

Therefore, the defendant stopped on double red lines briefly to check if the baby’s mother (who also happens to be defendant’s sister) was making their way out of the test centre.

    To

Therefore, the defendant stopped very briefly, out of concern for the welfare of the baby, who was crying and wriggling. The Defendant - who is the child's uncle (aunt?!) and was unfamiliar with this car seat - needed to check they were safely strapped in. No signs were seen nor alleged contractual terms accepted because the car had not driven any distance nor passed a repeater sign.

Thanks so much @Coupon-mad for feedback, I have made changes as you had suggested. Does it read okay now?

    3. The defendant, who was the driver of the vehicle in question was visiting East Midlands Airport on 24/12/2021 with family including a 5-month-old baby for COVID-19 tests. However, after the defendant left the car park, the defendant had to make an emergency stop since the baby was distressed and had started crying in the car during the absence of their mother who took longer than everyone else having the tests done that day. Therefore, the defendant stopped very briefly, out of concern for the welfare of the baby, who was crying and wriggling. The Defendant - who is the child's uncle and was unfamiliar with this car seat - needed to check they were safely strapped in. No signs were seen nor alleged contractual terms accepted because the car had not driven any distance nor passed a repeater sign. Within seconds, a CCTV van appeared out of nowhere and took images of the car in question. The defendant has checked the airport byelaws which permit brief stopping in an emergency. For reference, please see point 4 (4) on page 5 of the East Midlands Airport Byelaws 2001 booklet.

Hello guys, Thank you so much for all your support so far.

So I am back now with an update. I have now got a hearing date and supposed to be submitting my WS before the 3rd of January 2023. I have prepared one. The points 1 - 16 are new and mostly written by me. However, points 16 onwards are the same from the defence statement. What do you guys think of this WS.

    Thanks!!!

Not too sure that's a good idea.

You need to use the example WS by @aphex007 for the second half.

You still need a Statement of Truth, just not that one. It's been replaced.  Check it out on any other Defence/WS from the past couple of years shown on the forum, or a simple Google search will elicit the latest version.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

No idea.  He obviously updated his WS in his thread once or twice as he got advice, and as long as you read his thread from start to finish and found his latest version then that is it.
