Hi everyone,
dp1, good news that you seem to be recovering. I'm glad you had a good time in Berlin.
Coxy and Mehefin, the world of work is so fraught. I was encouraged to apply for a post by the headmaster of the school I worked at although I hadn't intended to because they had a track record of not appointing internal applicants. Of course I didn't get it (to give him his due the man was cross and mortified) and I found another job and was out of there within 4 weeks, I wasn't going to stay to train the person who would be taking over the most interesting portion of my job.
Sorting the house is continuing but now on the final stretch, I want to get it done today so that I can clean the place tomorrow ready for the big move, which has been put back till Sunday now because of the removal hiccup.
Talking of which I'd better go and get on. Have a good day.15 -
Morning all. Already procrastinating today by reading stuff instead of writing stuff. Art class was tiring again, but still interesting and good to get out of the house. Doscovered Monday night OHs mum is a trustee of the charity that runs the classes,so now I'm afraid of nepotism comments. Shared a taxi home with the friend who does them, very creaky today. I was talking to one of the participants who told me physically she was fine until she was 83, so, how old are you now? 93...She's really good too, I love watching her paint. I wish I could wave a wand and make her well. Did nothing when i got home, ate food and napped for a good portion of the rest of the day. Today not sure what's on the cards. Re-instate Italian lessons, now that I've got it working again [ fatal error, I laugh in your face, HA!] there is washing to do but showers are forecast. I may garden potter, the geum in the front garden has gone crazy and is a lovely blood orange colour, I want to go and admire it. I have made the potentially erroneous decision to plant three mint plants in the front garden, in the soil, not contained...I went with this because it can spread as much as it likes there and I don't have to worry about remembering to water pots of it. We'll see how the wisdom of that stacks up.Nelski, someone intelligent told me that feeling guilty doesn't mean you are gulity. You are not able to look after your mother, she is not able to look after herself. If your brother can't or won't then a home was the only other option. Give it a few weeks and see how she feels about living there...Ruby, how is your other job coming along? Izzy, not to be alarmist but maybe go get yourself checked out. If this a new thing better to be reassured , no? Coxy, et al,companies never seem to value the ones whose faces don't fit or are not obsequious enough. Funny how I went from normal grunt to management when I finally gave up on promotion with one place by going from one place to another. anyway, glad everyone seems to be more or less OK, take care...Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...15

Good morning
Lovely day here🌞, I'm planning on spending it in the garden. I'm going to dig out a new border, but I'll have to pace myself as my back starts aching when I do a lot of bending, legacy of working in care.
I've just put a chicken🍗 in the slow cooker which I will have with salad tonight.
Hugs to all the poorly, sad and worried♥️
Have as good a day as possible 🌻13 -
Good morning, it's sunny here in our caravan site near York, cold early on though.
Glad you enjoyed your holidays NMLC and DP1. Hope everyone is ok, thinking of our poorly people and those struggling with life.
Take care everyone, hope you all have as good a day as you can

Done my banking and had two coffees - ready for the world!Ruby - I hope that the meeting with HR has positive outcomes for you.TA - good news about your BF. Perhaps she is worrying but keeping it to herself, that's what I do.Coxy - I saw the earlier film version of Operation Mincemeat, it's a very moving story which shows the bravery and ingenuity of people during the war years. I hope that the new version is just as good.Camelot - still resting?? Take things gently please.Bella - a restored floor sounds wonderful.Izzy - enjoy your migraine free days.DP1 - welcome back, I'm so glad that you enjoyed your Berlin trip after all this time. I'm sure that your DD loved showing you around.Snoozer - I'm so confused by your family, which adult child is yours? I've lost track of them.Taff - my genums are no-where near flowering yet though they are growing again. I've got two Mrs Bradshaw's - bright red ones which are glorious when in bloom. I look at them every morning and talk encouraging words to them.Sunfl0w3r - enjoy the digging!Scarlet - happy holiday, you're in a lovely area so lots to see.Nelski - I hope you're more content with the home for your DM today after seeing her.NRA, Marie and Poppy - my thoughts are still with you all.The amazing fret has lifted, it seemed to seep up and out, getting thinner and more widespread before just disappearing. Now the sea is visible again and beginning to twinkle in the still cold sunshine. I'm planning on doing more in the small barn once outside warms up a bit more, meanwhile I'm cogitating on what's going into my new Will. I'm seeing my solicitor on Friday morning to sort that out and to set up POA, not that it's needed yet but once it is needed it's too late to do. It's time to accept the ageing process and get life organised a bit more. Rubbish!11

Morning
Well the plans are all askew again as mum didn't arrive at the new home yesterday (the transport didn't turn up! ) Can't visit today as they need a day to get her settled. I have to go in tomorrow morning to sign all the necessary paperwork and brother had arranged to visit in the afternoon. They only allow one visit per day so doubt they will allow me in as well but maybe a quick hi will be ok. They have a pod for visits so won't see her room but needs must. Anyway I can pop in a lot easier now so whatever works for them. Managed to get a load of new clothes delivered yesterday so at least that will tide her over till I know what she needs. Also got her some treats for her room and some toiletries and posh creams.
So today is free to breath and sort the kitchen out oh joy!
Coxy sounds like a good time to get out.
DP1 welcome home hope there is some tales of Berlin on the way
taff you're right its a pointless emotion but its hard not to feel it
Ruby hope mum will be out soon.
Sorry for forgetting everyone else. Normal service will hopefully resume soon I promise
Have a good day all

Hello all, I think we have inherited that cold wind but the sun is out so 1 out of 2 isn't bad. I completed my tasks yesterday plus I cut the back meadow lawn and strimmed the edges, so it's looking a bit neater to look out on now. My back was complaining a lot last night though and I may need a lighter weight mower as humping it up and down steps is getting harder, either that or I'm getting weaker !
DD came home from hols last night and called round to see us, she also collected Teddy rabbit as DGD didn't want to wait till today to see him. They are all suntanned and DD would have been quite happy to stay in Lanzarote if only for the lovely warm weather as she has been shivering ever since they got off the plane.
Today I have nothing particular in mind to do so I'll pick something from my list, if the wind drops I may get back out in the garden, there's always something to do out there even if only to sit and read. The lamb casserole yesterday was delicious and there's one potion left so as I cooked it I think I should get that for my tea today, but I'll be fair and we'll toss a coin for it 😁 The loser can choose something else from the freezer.
dp1 I'm glad you had a good time in Berlin.
Scarlet enjoy your day
taff I once made the mistake of planting mint in the garden, it turned into a triffid !
Snoozer hope you can get a removal sorted today.
Take care all, hugs to the poorly ones and anyone facing a difficult time.
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently14 -
Good morning everyone, gorgeous blue sky here and looking out to the back garden my tulips are glorious. We had a new pressure washer arrive yesterday so DS1 tested it out on the patio, he hasn't much work on atm. It looks much brighter now, we get a lot of green mould on the stone and flags in winter. He may do the front path today which are York stone flags & always discolour.I could have sworn I posted yesterday but when I was catching up I realised I hadn't even read since E Monday but we were kept busy, DHs bank sent a text asking if we recognised some transactions- er NO. Had to wait for s.o. to ring, and it took ages checking different things, got online banking up & spotted 3 more, and apparently there were some which had already been declined. So sorted out & card cancelled . Had a lovely time at the match with DS2&children. Met DB2 & family and also caught up with some more people not seen for a while. It was family day so they had stalls and entertainment beforehand.Back to work for DH and DS2, and school pickups resume for me.When I took DDog out this morning I just went across the road with her to the little wood & coming back through near the fence I spotted a knife so not wanting to leave it lying there picked it up with a poo bag, then wrapped up and disposed of when I got home. It wasnt there the other day, so I'm wondering whether it was schoolkids, quite a few of them use it as a shortcut to get down the hill rather than walk round the roadNels hope you find your DM settled today.Dp1 glad you enjoyed your break.Nice to 'see' you MehefinOS content- I'm going to make some more Scotch eggsThinking of everybody who could do with a hug & sending a bucketful.x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Gers, I don't blame you for being confused, atm I feel as if my head is spinning. Laura is my daughter and Chris, my son. Brian and Crystal are the in-laws although we've known Crystal for 20 years since they were 16 so she is really like another daughter. Funnily enough she is also more like me in character than Laura is.
