Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light and dry but cloudy, air is cooler too.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was LO pork, mash, veg, LO yorkshires and gravy. Tonight will be fish and rice/veg.
Work yesterday was busy as I had been on leave, so lots of emails and other bits to catch up on. Working at the other office this morning, then a meeting after that which I don't really have time to attend as it's in my time off. We'll see how I feel later.
Keep safe and well x

Up at 5am, no thanks to roughly 1 million birds chirping their little heads off from our rooftop!
However, I was welcomed to a a lovely dark blue sky with an approaching sunrise filling the horizon with warm orange glow. My weather station said it was 6C at 5:30, and now it is a balmy 7C!
My partner is preparing breakfast - just toast and a choice of jams or marmalades I think. Then it will be a few minutes reading the various news headlines from around the world, a quick shower, get dressed and await 9am and my workday begins again. But at least the sunshine always helps lifts one's spirits during this difficult time for all.
Take care, all x
Dry here but feels very cold and there is a sharp wind, off to work for me and today is the client I struggle with so always a long day !!
I had a meeting with HR yesterday which was really quick, she took all the details of how I am suffering and struggling with my feet and will write a report up, she needs to discuss it with her manager etc but she thinks what will happen is that they get me an occ health appointment (over the phone) where I can speak to a Dr and he then writes a report to the company and then they see what help they can give me, so its a good start and I am seeing my own GP tomorrow so that may give me some answers.
Not sure about dinner tonight but I quite fancy a jacket potato with salad, I am trying to lose some weight both for my health and for my holiday so I do need to be good !
Nels hope the visit with mum goes well today xx
Have good days all and take care xx
It was so lovely and warm yesterday morning I changed my plans. The upstairs windows still need cleaning but I tackled the front garden at last!! Unbelievable how many weeds there were. It was the usual stop, start affair thanks to my ailing legs but I got there eventually. Apart from the corner where the Sumac got chopped down when one of the many storms uprooted it. The remaining roots make it impossible to dig the ground over. Apart from that it looks so much better than it did. But I won't be appearing on Gardeners World any time soon!
I am debating a trip to Aldi this morning and then getting a taxi back. I started compiling a Te*co order yesterday and every item had me thinking how much I would get it for in Aldi!
I currently have some soup on the go to accompany my lunchtime bagels over the coming days. I cooked a small gammon joint for my tea yesterday and there is enough left to feed me for the next couple of days. The stock is already in the soup!
My BFF goes for her dressings removing today at her surgery and then she is back at the hospital next week to discuss what is happening next. She remains optimistic. She's not a worrier like me, always fearing the worst.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all our poorlies, poorly loved ones or just fed up.
Morning everyone and thanks for the start nmlc.
382 emails to contend with yesterday when I logged on, 100 of which I could discard as no longer relevant. I did get an email inviting me to interview for an internal 12-month secondment, same grade but totally different job. I am one of 4 they are seeing next Tuesday and I’m really nervous about it. Will be good interview experience if nothing else!
Other than that, yesterday was pretty quiet on the work front as boss has this week off. That’s the issue really, it’s either feast or famine. I get overlooked for doing anything interesting, despite throwing my hat into the ring at any given opportunity. Then the people that get to do the interesting stuff get praise and a monetary bonus for taking more on. Just can’t win! Sorry for the early morning whinge!
Ruby – I hope HR and OccHealth are able to suggest some adjustments. When is it you’re meant to be leaving?
Gers and Zola – lovely descriptions of sunrise, thank you 😊
YorksLass – I used a topical gel on my whingey knee whilst walking but also bought a stretchy knee support in B00ts – can’t use them both together though, so support during the day and gel when I went to bed.
Hope the visit to DMum goes well Nels x
Get well wishes to our poorlies including TA, TA's BFF and Camelot x
Dinner is a ready-made curry tonight as only DH and I eating and I’m trying to use what’s in the freezer. We are seeing Operation Mincemeat at the cinema afterwards.
Have a good day all,
Coxy
I was woken up at 5am by a helicopter flying overhead so did my word puzzles then had another hour. I too was listening to the birds singing, lovely start to the day.
The sun is shining again, will have a wash load to put out once I've had a shower. There will be another load later as the chimney sweep is coming and the throws are covering the sofas at the moment so will give them a rinse through once he's been.
I planted lots of seeds yesterday, a little late but they should come on in the greenhouse once it's finished, hopefully tonight. There's some shelving arriving this week which will do for now, I have lots of wood in the cellar left from the decking, DS1 has said he will build something from that when he has time.
Hope your visit to your DM goes well today Nelski.
Glad you heard from HR Ruby but it's always such a slow process.
Good luck with your interview Coxy.
Thinking of the poorlies.
Have a good day, take care. XX
Nels thinking of you hopefully mum is settled today when you go on your visit
Ruby Fingers crossed your not at that job much longer . Hope mum is doing ok
TA Good luck to your friend at her dressing change
Snoozer baby is due 6th October seems like a bumper year for babies this year everyone seems to be announcing an impending arrival
Right better get off my chair and sort out my bag to go into town
Have a good day whatever you are up to stay safe xx
Not much occuring (Nessa speak). mares ok and sound. Scoobymare now rideable again so that's a result. Means I have to walk Fairypony at the same time - well it keeps us both fit and she is a robust little pony so it won't do her any harm either. Whoever names her Fairy had no idea that she would be a little bruiser and built like the proverbial brick outhouse.
Sally lab is failing , virtually blind and bumps into things a lot, but still wants to go for short walks. Just open the fridge door and she is there!!
Coxy I was in a similar situation when my company decided to change the status of my job and I had to apply for it. Funny enough they gave it to someone from outside the company who i then had to partially train to do my job. She lasted a couple of years and went back to her old employer. It did polarise my thinking and I then applied for and got early retirement. The best of it was as I had a protected salary I was earning at least 50% more than her, so there was a justice in it somewhere. No regrets. Happier if somewhat poorer now.
Chores call so hugs and sppons as always

I got home last night - had a brilliant time in Berlin and it was so lovely to spend time with eldest DD. We saw everything on my list and, apart from the first day, had lovely weather and lovely meals. Our hotel was great with a good breakfast.
Health wise - felt tired at the end of each day - but 'normal' tired rather than exhausted. Still feels like there's an elephant sitting on my chest but I think I'm just going to have to put up with it a while longer. I'll try to get a phone appointment with doctor to discuss things, but plan to try going back to work next week - I'll speak to my boss today.
The sun is shining here this morning - I have washing in ready to go outside. I've done a Covid test which is thankfully negative so I'll go down to see mam and dad later. The cats are coming home about 9.30 and I have a Tesco delivery 9 till 10 - so I'd better get dressed in case they're early.
Will catch up some more later x
