Petition is now up to 1005.
Yesterday around 11.30 am I went past the West Midlands Designer Village and the car parks were quite full with just a few spaces left. Parking is free.
If I was a shop owner with a lease in Three Spires Shopping Precinct I would be so angry that they are discouraging customers by engaging aggressive PPC's.

28 May update. 2 invoices dropped after intervention by landlord. It was worth two letters to them to get this outcome. Third invoice is still active and likely to end up in court. The Three Spires Action Group now has 220 members on FB, including leader of Lichfield District Council who has written to Three Spires protesting the damage being done to the city's reputation by their parking arrangements. Three Spires ownership changing so new owners may be persuaded to find a better parking partner....maybe even LDC!

Hopefully new landowners will give Excel their marching orders. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

That is great news that Excel will be kicked out of Lichfield. It just goes to show what people power can do. It's a shame that many who have fallen foul of Excel's aggressive tactics have paid up and not stood their ground,
Glad that you have managed to get some of your PCN's cancelled and if Excel have any sense they will cancel the outstanding ticket.
I hope that the others that are also fighting their corner read this post as this news will surely add weight to their cases should they proceed to court.

In the thread above I posted about a scheme that they have in the High Peak which gives residents a permit to park in council car parks at certain times in the day.
I recently undertook a survey about Cannock town centre and I mentioned that this is what the High Peak Council did to help the towns. I think that I am going to suggest this directly to my councillor.
This ought to happen in Lichfield. If people only want to buy a couple of items it boosts up the cost if you have to pay for parking. Lichfield must have lost out to the Designer village which has free parking. Empty shops don't pay rates.
I'm not sure how accurate this is but I heard that Three Spires and Marks and Spencer's Simply Food parted company over the terms of the lease. I think that the shop is still empty.
Engaging Excel to manage a town car park when there is an outlet with free parking a few miles away was sheer madness. They must have had a death wish.

There are other car parks operated by Excel/VCS in our area to avoid. Burton on Trent by the Travelodge, Walsall and other parts of the West Midlands. Some in the East Midlands also including airports.
If travelling into Birmingham beware of car parks operated by another ex-clamper Premier Parking Logistics. These car parks are badly maintained and there has been numerous posts on this forum about faulty equipment. There are car parks operated by PPL in the Chinese Quarter near to the Hippodrome which have caught motorists out.
I always take the train into Birmingham. There is a regular bus service but it's long winded.
Both these PPC's are litigious and will pursue claims through the courts. Both are ex-clampers.
