Yes, that is correct.
NHS COVID Pass, fully vaccinated, latest jab within 270 days.
We arrived just over a week ago, with printed copy of NHS COVID Pass and entry was very smooth and efficient.

It still needs to be completed prior to travel..............................unless I've totally missed recent developments.

Not to confused with the UK Travel Locator Form which is no longer required for returning home.

The rules were updated a couple of weeks ago. 
For travel direct from UK to Spain, not via third country, " to enter Spain, all passengers, regardless of the country of origin (except children under the age of 12 and passengers in international transit), must show one of these documents:

• An EU DIGITAL COVID CERTIFICATE OR EU EQUIVALENT of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative certificate of an active infection diagnostic test or a recovery certificate after having this disease.
• SpTH QR. If you do not have the EU Digital COVID Certificate or equivalent, you must complete the SpTH Health Control Form, manually entering the details of your vaccination, recovery or diagnostic test certificate."

NHS COVID Pass counts as EU digital certificate.  Latest vaccine dose must be within 270 days currently - suspect that rule will change.

Understood - but doesn't the DCC have to be registered through the SpTH online using the "yellow button" option at top left ?

That's how I completed the form ahead of travel next month.

Or do you just need to show your NHS QR code on mobile or tablet to proceed ?

No that process is only to check the validity of your COVID Vaccination Certificate, you don’t have to check it if you are happy that your Cerificate complies with the requirements. Check it if you want to be doubly sure, all it does is tell you if it’s valid, it doesn’t supply any extra QR code or whatever.

Seems a big divergence from the original SpTH where they wanted every detail down to your hotel room number.

Yes, the new system is simpler, but I was doubtful how easy it would really be.  Just print the NHS COVID Pass and show on entry and get your passport stamped.
