Agreed there not much 8K content at moment,
I know 8K will go down in price at some point
This is the TV https://www.currys.co.uk/products/lg-55nano966pa-55-smart-8k-hdr-led-tv-with-google-assistant-and-amazon-alexa-10223247.html

LED not OLED or MicroLED
60Hz refresh only
No HDR10+ support
I would much rather have a good quality 4K TV than a sub standard 8K one. A decent future proofed 8K TV is going to be £2k upwards, not in the sub £1k price range.1 -
Youtube has a fair few videos discussing whether 8k is worth it or not, although I'm not enough of an expert to know whether they're any good. FWIW just watched this (non-UK) one from November and his advice is not; seemed to make sense:

Just a general observation about screen resolution and diminishing returns. IMHO UNLESS you can afford a huge screen, the move from 4k to 8k is a waste of money. I've looked at demos of 8k vs 4k on smaller sets (up to 65") and honestly couldn't see a meaningful difference.0

More leaning to 4K HDMI 2.1 120hZ screen0

How bright is the room it will be going in?
As long as it isn't stupidly bright I would look at OLED / MicroLED TV's only considering QLED if it really is facing into direct sunlight. The blacks are much better on OLED.
