Asda leg of lamb

A few years back we had something similar happen and I went back to the shop to ask for a refund with just the receipt. They refused to give it because I did not return the goods (a chicken). So I went home pulled the rancid chicken out of my bin and drove back to the shop - the stench from it was wild (I have never smelt anything like it). The returns desk was very busy but I found a space on their counter and helpfully unwrapped the chicken for them to examine as I waited. Several staff and nearby customers started gagging, some customers even ran out of the store.
The funniest bit was that when they refunded they told me to take it with me but I explained that it was theirs now and they should deal with it.I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!6 -
It's not common, but it happens sometimes. Let Asda know (do you still have the receipt?, or the packaging?) they should refund you (legs of lamb aren't cheap!) - might have been a freezer/refrigeration failure somewhere along the line so it may be a whole batch of meat has gone bad.Toonsparkle said:Anyone buy a leg of lamb for Easter? I bought mine last week put it straight in the freezer, took it out Saturday to defrost, when I opened it there was an awful smell, so I washed it think it was just the blood, when cooked it tasted rotten. We had 8 of us for dinner and it was ruined we couldn’t eat it! The worst thing is I can still smell it today even though I’ve bleached everything and the meat is double bagged in the wheelie bin outside.0 -
Excellent! Having had a lack of common sense applied to customer service many times over the years, I really enjoyed thisIvanOpinion said:A few years back we had something similar happen and I went back to the shop to ask for a refund with just the receipt. Mary had a little lamb, she placed it on a pylon
20 thousand volts went up its bum and turned its fleece to nylon.
Boom, boom. You know what uranium is, right? It's this thing called nuclear weapons. And other things. Like lots of things are done with uranium. Including some bad things.
