Good morning, it's a fine-ish start here, but it must have rained overnight.
I had a bit of a disturbed night, so thought I might as well get up.
We went up to Alnwick yesterday to see the cherry blossom at the Gardens, very nice it was. it was very busy there, we didn't go into the town though, with it being Easter Sunday I thoughy everything would be closed.
We are going away for a few days in the caravan today, so I hope the weather stays ok. It'll probably be much the same as here.
Hope everyone has a good day, thinking of our poorly people - take care folks.

Thanks thanks for starting us off Scarlet. How lovely to see the cherry blossom, it's always a cheery sight. Hope you enjoy your days away. After the dismal start to yesterday the day became nice for a wee while before the rains came. Today looks a fetching steel grey colour and it's been raining. My dog walking neighbour stopped for a cuppa and a chat which is always lovely. Then the chap up the hill's wife called round with some Easter goodies - a small bar of salted caramel chocolate 🎉 and a box of chitted pink firs. 😂Luckily, the gardener sent me text to say she's coming today so she can plant the pink firs, there's also three strawberry plants, a fuchsia cutting and the two everlasting sweet pea plants to get into the ground. Later this afternoon the cleaner is coming too which will be really good as it's been a month since her last visit. When the cleaner is here I'll go to Oban to collect an order from Arg** I was browsing the thread about drying clothes outside when it occurred to me that one of those long foldable clothes airers would be perfect for when the weather forecast is for showers rather than full on rain- stick it outside by the door so I can simply fold it up and bring it back indoors in a hurry. Anyway, I have to collect it today
I hope that all our poorlies are doing OK. Ruby and Nelski, special thoughts to your DM's.Happy Easter Monday to all.17 -
Good morning all, on a wet overcast Easter Monday here in the Lake District.
Was hoping to spend some time in the garden, but the forecast may have put paid to that. Therefore I might have a "DBAD" and just relax on the sofa, watch some sitcoms and films on the nasbox, or play on the Wii, PS4 or get the board games out again.
My partner and I had a very enjoyable "No Gadgets Day" yesterday. It was hard work at times not wanting to reach up to one of my laptops/tablets and have a quick tinkle. But my partner kept me in check and instead we went out for a walk, a drink and just generally doing things that my parents and grand parents used to do back in the day - walk and talk
I think I overdid it on the chocolate over the weekend. Dare not get onto the scales! Might have to go out for a jog a little later on, if I can be bothered
Have a great bank holiday all

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Enjoy your few days away. We must have had a little rain in the night too as the road looks a bit damp. As they promised it feels a bit cooler today too.
This cold bug that keeps on giving is annoying me now. I just feel I am on the mend then it clobbers me again and I feel really weary and can't get warm. DS popped in just before lunch with a beautiful flower arrangement for my Easter gift which was lovely.. He told me I looked washed out and pale and I am never pale! Despite 2 negative LFTs earlier in the week I did another just in case. Still negative. It's time this bug moved on!
What gets done today depends on how I feel as the morning progresses. I plan on all sorts of jobs as I lay in bed but once I am up they don't usually happen!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need of them. Thinking of NELS and RUBY with their poorly mums. Take care one and all and be safe xx

Morning All
Belated Happy Easter, I had the little one overnight on Saturday so didn't get on here. Her and DD stayed most of the day, we put together the base of the greenhouse and my lovely friends who live across the road came and helped to put some of the frame together, hopefully if the weather cheers up most of it can be finished today.
It was lovely weather yesterday but incredibly windy in the afternoon, it's rained overnight but dry at the moment. All the washing was dried and put away. I had an early night as I was pooped but feel better this morning after a decent night.
Have a great few days away Scarlett.
Hope you feel better today TA.
Sorry your Mum is still poorly Ruby, hope everything can be sorted out quickly. Your nephew is lucky to have you looking out for him.
Have a good day, take care. XX15 -
Morning all & a Happy Easter Monday,Yes been raining here too but not been out with the dog yet. Had a nice hour at the farmers market yesterday, just got veg, and DH wanted a pie & some cake, oh and some samosas
. Frozen now so I can ration it all out.We had a lovely meal out with DB2 & SIL, been a long time. They caught the train and underestimated the walk into the little town, her feet were all sore and red :(They both had lasagne, DH treated himself to a steak, and I had parma wrapped cod with prawns and mussels, and we all enjoyed it. DS1 came to pick us up and ran them home too, he's a good'un.Looks like the woodpigeons are building a nest in the conifers at the back here too.Lots of twig carrying going on.Football match later, we'll pick DS2 and the dgc up and I can give them their Easter envelopes, will meet up with DB2 & SIL again with their grandson.Better check what's in for tea, something easy, we were hoping to bbq when we got home but that's not looking likely now.TA, hope your cold does one soon!Scarlet have a nice break.Best wishes to those who need them, bye for now xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all, wishing you all a good Easter Monday. I hope those who have things planned enjoy them and those who are struggling get some support/hugs/encouragement. I have been up since 5.30 ish, I am wide awake, have done my Duolingo and all my Wordle type games, thinking what to do next......my main aim for this week, starting today, is to dramatically reduce the amount of rubbish in my diet. I am returning to drinking only water except one glass of fruit juice at meals, not eating chocolate/sweets all the time (going cold turkey but will reintroduce the odd biccy here and there once I am over the initial stages), and snacking on fruit/veg/healthier things. It might well make me a bit grumpy over the next couple of days, but having done it before, I know it's worth it!

Morning all Its been a busy few days with the family DD2 bought good news she and DSIL are expecting their first baby in October she gave us a card which contained 2 scan pictures and we are over the moon unfortunatly we are away on holiday with DD1 and DSIL 3 days after her due date so we will have a chat about wether to delay the holiday but in all fairness i know they will want some time to themselves when little one arrives so i offered to go and help when DSIL goes back to work she also has 2 x MIL's who will be delighted to help i am sure
Todays jobs are taking up the carpet in the hallway for the floor restorers to come tomorrow and a trip to the tip other than that i will have a root through the freezer for dinner ideas
TA I hope you feel better i think there are quite a few cold type bugs going around its just the worry of is it Covid or just a cold
Ruby and Nels hugs to both you and your mums x

Good morning
Dry but cooler here although it poured down last night.
Will go for a walk this morning then as long as it stays dry I'll do some gardening this afternoon. If I have any energy left I'll tackle the ironing tonight 😊
Dinner tonight is a repeat of last night's roast so just needs heating up.
Have as good a say as you can 🌻13 -
Morning everyone went to bed with a headache last night should have taken some paracetamol but thought I would just sleep it off woke this morning thought the wind was blowing the blinds and the sun was flashing in and out of the bedroom put my head under the quilt and it was still bright lights flashing then I realised it must have been a migraine stayed there another half an hour and got up alright not something I suffer from but I don’t think it helped I had to much chocolate yesterday so that is it I have been to Lidl and got some salad bits taken a couple of chicken breast out of the freezer I have got to get into this healthy eating and I must lose some weight for my sons wedding in august I am a disaster.dogs have been walked some shopping done I got 6 pieces of salmon for 90 pence reduced today they are in the freezer what a bargain I have meal planned all this week and next weeks meals it’s supposed to stay dry but it is cooler we haven’t had the temperatures they promised.back to work tomorrow where has that long weekend gone Bella congratulations lovely news Gers I think clothes airers are great I get a lot of use out of mine both indoors and out thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing15

Good Morning everyone, and down here in the Garden of England the weather is a nice spring day, and the sun is out.
I have a large leg of lamb bone to strip and mince this morning as it was given to me by DD last night so its going to be turned into various meals for the freezer. So my freezer defrost may have to wait a little longer.
DD and son-in-law and three dogs have gone off for a few days holiday and only two grandsons left at home ,so i am only around the corner if needed. I shall make the boys something from the minced lamb for their dinner tonight.
DD gave me a lovely Lindor Easter egg yesterday
bless her
along with some sewing for me to do while she's away
She knows I'm a soft touch for Lindor chocolate.
I may have to pop into the greengrocers for some spuds to go with the minced lamb, but I'll check the veg rack first. I shall bake the boys some cake as well as they both appreciatea nice Victoria sponge cake, and Mikey has his 'A' level mocks this week so will need something nice to come home to.
Apart from that not a great deal to do today .because of the hold ups on the kent roads there is no point trying to get to the coast at the moment so it will probably be a bit of 'sitting in the garden' for me if the sun stays out.
Hope everyone has a good day and gets to relax a bit
