Leave a message under the payments section and tell them that you're no longer claiming CA and include the date that it stopped (assuming you've not received any further payments)

There will be a CA deduction but the amount should amended to reflect how much you were entitled to during the AP.

Put a query in your UC journal as a payment query. Remind them that as previously advised your Carer's Allowance stopped on xxx although you continue to provide care. Because the CA stopped part way through my assessment period I understand that the CA deduction should be calculated on a pro rata basis. Please review my entitlement for this period.

I tried most of the day yesterday trying to get through to CA with no luck. Rang this morning spot on 8am and got through straight away. The lady I spoke to told me my claim us still live and I will receive a payment on Monday.

I explained everything again to her and she said she will close my claim down and put the date of 29th April on it, I'm glad I've kept  the email confirmation they sent me to prove it was from 29th.

What do I do now? I haven't left any notes in my UC as yet I wanted to sort the CA out first.  Should I just leave it and see what happens next month?  I know I will probably have an over payment of CA because I've been working 15hrs a week.  All a bit of a  mess really.

Not necessarily. CA is based on your earnings in the previous payment period. Are you paid weekly or monthly?

My interpretation of that is that you could remain entitled to CA until you get paid. On that basis I don't think an overpayment will have occurred.
I wouldn't do anything more with UC until you have confirmation from CA that the claim is closed then confirm the date to UC.

    Thanks for the reply calcotti.

I am not going to do anything more until I hear from CA.  I've done what I needed to do at my end so just going to wait now and see what happens.

I just cant believe it, I have just rung CA up again and the  claim is still showing as live, I really could scream! The man i spoke to has assured me this time the claim has been closed and i will receive a letter in about 10 days confirming this. I wont hold my breath yet.

I just wanted to ask my assessment  period for UC is 18th to 17th of each month, my first wages will be 26th, I started work on 28th April, I'm just confused about UC, assessment period and wages.  I think my wages will be £570 could anybody shed any light on how things are worked out for UC.

    Thanks xxx

Your AP takes into account whatever wages you are paid within the AP. If you are paid at the end of May that payment will be taken into account. BecUse you have LCWRA the first £344 of your earnings will be ignored, there will be a deduction of 55% of the amount over £344.
