Have you looked on Amazon? £19
Most other places seem to be £35-400 -
Is that for lamp shades? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

And therein lies my dilemma.unforeseen said:Have you looked on Amazon? £19

I have bought a beautiful lampshade and lamp stand for just a fraction of this price so to spend as much as £10 on a part would be outrageous. No man is worth crawling on this earth.

Keep popping into charity shops, check out their lamps, and when you find one with this type of clip, buy it and dismantle the lamp there and then.I'm kidding about part of that.1

Also, keep an eye on local skips. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

Closer to my price range but not quite right.GDB2222 said:
@Bendy_House - funnily enough that's exactly what I was doing this morning. Dreadfully wasteful of the remaining lamp, but the reality is it costs so much less to buy a second hand lamp and strip a part out than to buy the part brand new!No man is worth crawling on this earth.

No, but I now know a) what I am looking for, and b) where I'm likely to find it (eventually!) for a price I am prepared to pay.GDB2222 said:

try boot sales. I used to work in lighting and that 'harp convertor' (as it was called), was often used on reproduction tiffany style lights to hold the glass shades on. these type of lamps crop up in boot sales quite often. i've rumaged thru my garage spares but haven't got one otherwise i would have gladly sent it to you.1
