As I understand it Ryanair is in direct breach of Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008, specifically Regulation 5 - we are within our rights to demand compensation.
Are you certain about that? Ryanair have said it was a mistakeThe “due diligence” defence for traders63. Under the Regulations it is a defence to a claim for damages for traders to show that the misleading or aggressive practice happened as a result of a mistake or other cause beyond the trader’s control, and that they took all reasonable precautions to avoid the misleading or aggressive practice from occurring.0 -

Hey there - did either of you get any resolution?sophie2121 said:joseph2020 said:Hi all,
Please can someone help me understand my options.
When logging into my Ryanair account today, as did many, their flights appeared as cancelled.
I obviously took that as the truth as their website, not just app, told me it was cancelled and to request a refund. So I did.
In the meantime, I had to shed out an extra £300 to get to my location with an alternative airline.
Since then, Ryanair have said it was a mistake and was never cancelled. I am now down an extra £300 and the airline won't do anything.
Any help?
Hi there - myself and a group of friends are in exactly the same situation.
Our flight on the 14th April also appeared cancelled, we also forked out a few hundred pounds on alternate flights - and are having no luck with refunds from Ryanair for their misleading communications.

Have you managed to progress the issue any further?
I've had the exact same issue on a recent trip, with them refusing any liability and flat out refusing any compensation.

Sorry to light this old thread back up, but just logged back in for the first time in a while.
I did. I escalated to the regulatory body and they agreed with me. I got a full refund and compensation.1 -

They're not a regulatory body, but a provider of alternative dispute resolution services - the fact that determinations are binding on the parties who choose to use their services doesn't make them a regulator....joseph2020 said:

How is that not productive? There are very important differences between a regulatory body and a non-regulatory body.joseph2020 said:

Exactly - aggrieved airline customers generally have a range of escalation/remediation options, including ADR providers, actual regulatory bodies (CAA in the UK, others elsewhere), courts, card providers, etc, so a bit of clarity is hardly a bad thing, rather than the approach of saying "I escalated to the regulatory body" instead of "I escalated to AviationADR".Ergates said:
