RyanAir Website Glitch

Options
Hi all,

Please can someone help me understand my options.

When logging into my Ryanair account today, as did many, their flights appeared as cancelled.
I obviously took that as the truth as their website, not just app, told me it was cancelled and to request a refund. So I did.

In the meantime, I had to shed out an extra £300 to get to my location with an alternative airline.

Since then, Ryanair have said it was a mistake and was never cancelled. I am now down an extra £300 and the airline won't do anything.

Any help?

Did you get an email as well? Did you contact RyanAir to query why the flight was 'cancelled'?

I did not no, I know that is the standard when cancelled, but my flight is soon and had not considered to check emails for something like that. I typically believe what the website is saying! I did try contact at the time but could not get through

Did you take a screen shot of the cancellation message?  Strong argument in your favour if you can show them the error.

Was this flight today?  Flight number/route?

The way you was talking I had the impression the flight was a few hours after you saw the 'cancellation' on their website.
    From RyanAir:

How will I be notified of a flight cancellation?

If your flight has been cancelled we will notify you as soon as possible by e-mail and/or text message to the e-mail address and/or phone number provided at the time of booking.
You can also find more information about cancelled flights on our website.

Apologies! I am also slightly speaking on behalf of passengers which I have seen already at the airport, which are a bit sooner than myself  :#

Don't worry about speaking for others, just speak for yourself. Personally I think you'll be out of luck. No email/text received which airlines do when there is a cancellation. No contact made to RyanAir to try and clarify the situation. No screenshot of the website/app.

Have you asked them to credit the flight as opposed to refunding? Have you proven to them you have bought an alternative ticket?

Hi there - myself and a group of friends are in exactly the same situation.

Our flight on the 14th April also appeared cancelled, we also forked out a few hundred pounds on alternate flights - and are having no luck with refunds from Ryanair for their misleading communications.

As I understand it Ryanair is in direct breach of Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008, specifically Regulation 5 - we are within our rights to demand compensation.

Have you managed to progress the issue any further?

Hey there - did either of you get any resolution?

I've had the exact same issue on a recent trip, with them refusing any liability and flat out refusing any compensation.
