Speaker Comparison and BiWire

I have Dali Lektor 2 standmount speakers. Amazing sound for the money and they match my Roksan Kandy K2 system perfectly.Gavin83 said:My personal speaker brand of choice at the moment is Dali, which produce a much more balanced sound IMO.
Front ported too which I prefer as easier to position.

Its many, many years since I experimented on a friends system - however we reached the conclusion that bi-amping was worthwhile, whilst bi-wiring was virtually indistinguishable. As others have said, paying a fortune for cable is a waste of money. I just buy reels of speaker cable off ebay now.

My experimentation before was with interconnects, I think I paid 50 quid for one, and I didn't notice any difference with the ones included with any given separate!
Perhaps I'm just not as tuned in to the subtleties!
Biggest difference to the sound, besides positioning, was when I was doing my old bedroom up and had no carpet, underlay or curtains, obviously sounds totally different!

I could hear the difference between interconnects from QED, Atlas and Chord Company when trying them.ChilliBob said:My experimentation before was with interconnects, I think I paid 50 quid for one, and I didn't notice any difference with the ones included with any given separate!
Went with Chord Company ones together with their speaker cable. Better than bell wire.

Regarding using both sets of cable. No advantage and possibly detrimental. The amp output (with that lowest impedance) is the best position.ChilliBob said:Thanks, it sounds as though I'm perhaps best doing what (I think!) I was doing before
Sub --> Amp
Speaker --> Amp
Both cables combined into the speaker posts.
Would there be *any* logic in making use of both sets on the back of the speakers and running a cable between speaker and woofer?! (In addition to above), or is that just lunacy?

Cheers guys, well they arrived yesterday, not that I'll be able to use them for a while! I think I'll stick to the current wiring setup I have
