I got a canon 2000d. You will find the lenses will cost a fair bit.
I wouldn't even consider a camera unless I knew I had the finds for all the extras needed. Extra batteries, bag, sd cards, lensesMortgage free wannabe

I like my DSLR and the lenses I pick have sabilisations modes on so I can get a clear steady shot. You might find that tricky with iPhones.
