Opportune Time to buy Samsung phones?
Although she hasn't wanted one before we are in need of a mobile 'phone for my wife.
We have got our eye on a recent Samsung mid range model A52S. (Which best buy)
We are unlikely to change and therefore want an extended period for security updates.
(Nothing to do with wanting the latest fashion)
At the moment the Samsung phone has a promotion and comes with "Ear Buds" which we will almost certainly not use.
In best MSE thinking - would appreciate any feedback on the following.
If we wait until the Ear Buds promotion has ended - do Samsung have any history of then dropping prices?

A52S has been out since August/September last year so 1 year of updates almost gone already.
If you want that phone then carry on, if you want the longest updates then choose something released this year.
Specs are very close to my M31s which was £219.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Have a look on eBay and use code HAVE20 that will get you 20% off up to maximum of £50. Ends today though so be quick. Not all sellers are in that offer however, but some are. I was looking myself at A52S yesterday. Could have one at £2590

The Samsung A52s was available in December for around £220 (a Samsung cashback offer and retail discounts). The current "free" buds offer is worth about the same as their previous cashback deal.
Can't really help on predicting the future price, the market for new mobiles particularly in this mid-range area is very dynamic at the moment. Will say that I am very happy with the A52s although their UI can seem a little "over-comprehensive" in the amount of twiddling allowed. There's a lot of Samsung bloatware too, most of which can be happily ignored.
I bought two. Samsung are saying 3 years of OS updates and 5 of security. Seems decent.
FWIW, do not assume that wi-fi calling will work with your network unless you buy from them.

Hello. I'm throwing the MSE Cheap Mobile Finder into the mix in case it's useful to readers of this thread.
I'm afraid that MSE tool won't help with anticipating future prices, but for that, CamelCamelCamel might be helpful. It tracks the price history of products sold on Amazon so you can see the dearest and cheapest it's been on Amazon so far.0 -
