Money Moral Dilemma: Should I ask my dad's wife to pay me for my houseplant?

Think you should send this story to Lee Mack for him to use in the next series of Not Going Out. He should be able to pad it out for half an hour with lots of mistaken conversations and him and Lucy breaking in to take the plant back in the dark but then taking the wrong one.3

You neglected the plant. It’s evidently much happier where it is now, so leave it where it is to thrive. It’s you, if anyone, who should be paying for the job of restoring its health.0

Grief- is this really a moral dilemma? Especially with all that's going on in the world at the moment.
My thought is 'get a grip!'
Clearly you don't know how to care for an orchid so leave it where it is and buy a plant for yourself that doesn't need much attention such as an aloe.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Compliment her on her skills and see what she says. It's hard to know exactly what you said and how you each interpreted that when she took it on. Do you think it will survive under your care? I doubt it would survive under mine! Probably unwise to expect her to pay you.0
-
Just ask for it back. Where is the problem?0
-
I do agree with those who say it's probably better off where it is. Would you be able to keep it healthy? However, whilst she was good enough to nurse it back to health for 'you' I do think she should have just given it back, think she's being cheeky just keeping it. No, don't ask her to pay for it.0
-
Jeeze! Just let her keep it!So pleased something so trivial is your major dilemma!!!0

Where does she live? I have one that needs nursing back to life which she can keep if she's successful. I can't bring myself to throw it away. 😢0
