That's why I asked ... just because it is 32" and 12 years old doesn't necessarily mean it's 4:3 ratio.Withbellson said:
4:3 ratio?Jenni_D said:When you say old school 32" what do you actually mean? My TV is 32" and will be a similar vintage to yours but it's 1080p (1920 x 1080 resolution).
Equivalent would be a 40" widescreen
OP may be using the "old school" term to mean it's only a 32" TV.
(If OP tells us the actual TV model number it would be clear).

Thanks for all your help ( again 😼!)
Thought it best just to post pic of current setup . I do love that Toshiba . Always have loved their TV's over they years . Notice how chunky that humax set top box is 😼
The 2 pins I was talking about were the RF Screw In Plugs that are attached to the satellite dish . Hope this clarifies things ..0 -
Toshibas are no longer true Toshibas.....Vestel in Turkey and Compal in Poland manufacture the TV's and just badge them Toshiba. A different animal to those of the past.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Unless it's a CRT or a computer monitor then it's definitely not going to be 4:3, especially if it's 12 years old.Jenni_D said:

Any TV that is stated as having Freesat has a RF screw in 'pin' that you mention. Usually only one for a TV, unless it can record 2 Freesat channels at the same time, as can your Humax box.another_casualty said:Thanks for advice so far.
I didn't realise how much out of he loop I am in the TV world. Looking at the kind suggestions above, I notice that there is no headphone socket or straight connection to my stereo amplifier. My Amp has RCA sockets. Plus regarding Freesat , I didn't see any sockets for the 2 Pins on the respective TV's so that means I couldn't get rid of my Humax .
Anyway, please keep suggestions coming 😼1 -

More adverts than content on All4. And the adverts are about 5 mins each time.shiraz99 said:
Streaming doesn't necessarily make recording redundant. The main draw for recording is being able to ditch and FF through adverts. Have you ever tried to watch anything on the All4 or ITV Hub free streams, a painful, frustrating experience if ever there was one.getmore4less said:What are you recording that can't be streamed?2 -
Four minutes - exactly 4 presses on the "jump forward 1 minute" button on my pvr remote. ITV is the same.More adverts than content on All4. And the adverts are about 5 mins each time.0 -
We're talking about the streaming channels, you can't jump forward on live streams of adverts.flaneurs_lobster said:

We're talking about recordings made on a pvr (well I was). Jumping adverts is the primary reason for having one.shiraz99 said:
