No. The mythical average user headline figure would be lower but the unit rates would not be any different.

We still haven't been in a year til end of June but the bright app does show us the previous owners electricity usage on Apr 2021.
They used 1191 kWh for Apr 2021
We used 430 kWh for Apr 2022
Mind you heating was off from 11th April and we have started our cost cutting energy saving ways.0 -
With the cut backs made since the April price cap we are now looking at our own estimated yearly usage of 5850 kWh against the previously estimated 7100 kWh when we first started the cut back exercise and were budgeting.
Simple changes and being a bit thoughtful to not wasting energy.
Still an anticipated 17.6% reduction on energy usage is firstly enjoyable and realistic.
Still can't wait to have a full year here on our cut back figures👍

I've dropped my electric usage by over800kWh per year and about the same for the gas usage. This is by turning everything in standby off at the wall socket and lowering the temperatures on the boiler to 50 degrees for water and 55 degrees for heating.Someone please tell me what money is1

For us in our now 4 bed house the big surprise is in kWh, with this designed and not retro fitted ASHP, we are now looking at this being 15% cheaper than our gas and electric previous 3 bed house. We did not expect that.1 -
I do think that a big chunk (the majority?) of my reduction was due to an exceedingly mild winter & am not expecting similar next (although will be delighted should it repeat).2

Yes, this year was a mild winter, with relatively lower capped energy prices compared to the present prices.
God help us all if next year is a cold winter with the already expected very high prices, the reduction in Russian energy supply, possible food shortages, inflation running sky high and a Government who have no clue and don't care how bad things already are for a lot of people.0 -

So in May we used 257 kWh electricity as that is all we have so it does everything. At the start of may we were averaging 9kwh per day and got this down to 7.5 kWh per day by the last two weeks so hopefully this will be our average in summer going forward.
We are getting to the point next month where we can directly see the savings we have made judged against last year as we will have been in the house a year.
Based on what the previous owners used in the house May 2021 as it shows in the bright app they used a whopping 835 kWh and probably explains why when we moved in I had to embark on a deconstruction and recreation of the air source heat pump settings and schedules.0
