Moved home. Gas & Electric Co haven't replied to new owner request or readings.
Options
Contacted the vendors G&E company who stated on line we must take readings and complete a PDF form with all new details. This form was to be attached to an email and sent back to them. They write that to get a new supplier we still have to join them first?
We have emailed the new customer form three times over a fortnight and haven't had any reply back. Not even an acknowledgement of the email itself.
I am unsure what to do next. The company is Utility Warehouse.
Any advice gratefully received.

They are correct - when you move home you automatically become a customer of the incumbent supplier (UW in this case) and are put onto a deemed tariff (usually their SVT). There's no way around this.
Provide them meter readings from the date you become responsible for the property. This helps to draw a line in the sand between the previous occupants and you so you don't get charged for their usage. At that point you are free to stay with UW, or move away to another supplier. There's a few week gap between moving suppliers so even if you move away straight away there will be a period when UW are providing you with gas + electricity which you will need to pay for.1 -
Many thanks for replies. I have no problem with keeping the company but only that after a fortnight there is no acknowledgement from them to the readings and new owner details we have emailed over as they requested on their site. I have been unable to reach them by phone so far but will keep trying. When moving in the past the companies have responded the same day, as all the other companies have, water, CT, phone etc this time.
Is it normal with this company to have to wait weeks to he registered as the new owner? I’d like to set up the on line account but as we are not registered we can’t do this yet.
Having paid the bills for decades it’s an odd thing to be moaning about, not being able to register. 🤣0
