APS ISA allowance

My husband has recently died, leaving a cash ISA near to the FSCS guarantee limit. In the next few months I shall want to open an additional cash ISA for myself, using the APS allowance.
I understand the process, but am having difficulty finding out which institutions accept APS funds, as not all do. Is there a list anywhere?

Not aware of a list, but a quick search of "APS ISA providers" finds Skipton and Virgin among others:
https://www.skipton.co.uk/savings/savings-hub/additional-permitted-subscriptions
https://uk.virginmoney.com/virgin/isa/aps-allowance/
Once an ISA has been funded with APS money, there's nothing stopping you from transferring it elsewhere, to any institution, as it would no longer be treated as an 'APS' ISA as such once moved on from where that initial one-off subscription has been done.2 -
Thanks, so I could just fund one of these very low interest ISAs with the APS money, then transfer it elsewhere for a better rate?0

As a wider issue, do you need to retain so much money in cash deposit form?0 -
Possibly not, will have to think further about that. Thanks for your help.1

I've just joined the new forum and pleased to find this immediately, which is a great help. My dear late wife had a fixed rate ISA., which matured after her death, with Shawbrook Bank who don't provide APS ISA's. I was considering cashing it in to reinvest, as what's on offer is derisory, however I'm relieved to know that I can move the ISA to another as it's ceased to be an APS ISA as soon as I wish. Thank you.0

Lloyds were very helpful, via their bereavement team, and I was able to open a new APS ISA with them to transfer my husband’s ISA into. I then moved it onto one of mine, with a different provider, like any other ISA transfer, so now it is merged with my ISA and is indistinguishable.1

Yorkshire Building Society were very helpful when I did an APS transfer for my mother a couple of years ago0
