Hi looking for advice.
We booked with EasyJet for six adults and an infant for a trip in September.
We booked with EasyJet for six adults and an infant for a trip in September.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, two adults and the infant needed to drop out.
Contacted Easyjet to remove them from the booking.
Easyjet then charged more than their original flight cost as a 'cancellation fee'!
Checked their website only mentioned 24hr cancellation fee, not fees at a later date.

Has anybody else experienced this or has any advice?

did you book direct with EasyJet or via a third party?
was this an EasyJet holiday or flight only?
fur future - would have been better to do nothing at this point, if flight cancelled or significant time change prior to travel, would have been able to get refund1 -
Hi, Yep do nothing and even give the seats away would have been a better option. The actual cost (booked direct with Easyjet) went up by £6 when the two passengers and infant were removed.
They also state on their website conditions you will be told upfront what the ramification of changes etc cost-wise when talking to their agent.
At no point did their agent mention costs fees etc (especially up front). If she did we would leave the booking as is, and the two others would have been a 'no show' at check-in time.0 -
The flights sound extremely cheap to exceed cancellation the fees. How much were the flights and what were you charged?0

Hi, The flights were £2500 for six people to Crete. The cancellation of two passengers was £900. So the cancellation fee per person was more than the cost of their flights.

If Easyjet flight only then the flights are usually 100% non-refundable . The two adults/infant who are no longer travelling would forfeit their fares but should not be charged more. All seem rather strange.
Definitely not an Easyjet Holidays?
Are the rest of the party still travelling on the original date/flights as booked? No changes?0 -

I think you need to provide a breakdown of what you originally paid
6 adult fares @ £x =
1 infant fare @ £50(?) = £50
total paid =
note the 2 adult passengers that are not travelling should be able to claim £13 APD back each0 -
Original cost £2584.24 for six adults and infant.
After the removal of two passengers and the infant and refund of APD, the new cost total £2591.220 -
Caz3121 asked you for a breakdown.0

I've combined both the original and updated after passenger removal into one see below:0

It also states on their website that you would be told upfront of the cost implications of a change etc, I was not. Neither was I told of any other options i.e. change of passenger etc.0
