Yoyr local oil club could help with price if heating oil

Folks, for anyone that uses oil for heating you'll probably have seen the  heating oil price has sky rocketed, so you may benefit from looking to see if you have a local Oil Club?

They're local community groups looking to buy heating oil in bulk to reduce individual costs

This club and others have been discussed endlessly on the forum.
Currently, very few local clubs are able to even provide quotes, and where they do quote, the prices are not generally competitive as suppliers are focusing on their regular direct customers.
I've used various local clubs over the years (and yes, historically they can bring your price down), but at present going direct to a supplier gets a better price.
But as always, the advice is..... shop around and compare.

They are worth checking them out. Personally never had any issues getting a local supplier to beat their prices though. They can certainly give you a good target price to find better than though, and if you can't find better locally then a good option to go with.

In my case they were competitive, 85ppl compared to boiler juice 91p. Rang round a couple of local oil companies who wouldn't match, let alone beat it

The prices have been unusually volatile recently; all part of the chaos being visited on us for the past few years.
Some suppliers may have been a little slow (or fast) in changing prices. For example, my oil club price when I last rang was over £1 ppl and the supplier I often use gave me 69ppl....obviously a little while ago now, but this was literally within a 2 minute time frame.
