food processor/electrical connection?

i bought food processor whilst abroad , as i had seen one working and was really impressed with it.  what i did  not realise at the time that it had a 2 pin plug.

any ideas on what i should do to convert it to be able to use in uk.

i assume as it is 2 pin , it will only have 2 wires inside it, the plug is moulded  on, so i cant open it up

Which country did you buy this food processor in ?
If you purchased it within Europe, you can get adapters to convert to a UK 3-pin plug.

A picture of the plug would help.

Either an adapter or my preferred method would be to replace it with a uk plug.

Adapters are asking for trouble. Just cut the existing plug off and fit a standard 13amp plug, with appropriate fuse of course!

Depends on the voltage & frequency.

If it's a 2 pin Europlug, then you can get adaptors specifically designed to fit them.  They clip around the plug, making it look like a slightly chunky 13A plug.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

Good point! I had assumed (perhaps unwisely) the OP bought a device that would work on 240V 50Hz.

Which is why I asked which country the appliance had been purchased in.
Not all countries use 240V (nominally, 230V across Europe including the UK). The frequency shouldn't be much of an issue though.

Here is a pic of it, I beleive it will only have 2 wires as it is 2 pin.
Could I replace with 13 amp plug
It might not have earth wire
Won't know until  I cut original plug off

The specs look fine to use with UK 230V 50Hz supply.

Plenty of UK appliances only have a two core cable with no earth wire, so that isn't a problem if the appliance is designed appropriately to be that way. The reason you don't see two pin plugs here is that the third pin is needed to open the shutters on the socket. If you look you'll notice lots of devices have a plastic pin which does nothing electrically anyway.

I'd cut off the existing plug (as it's moulded on) and replace with a UK one as I have one to hand. If I had to buy a plug I might get an adapter like this instead: https://cpc.farnell.com/powerconnections/fcp-bk-5a/converter-plug-european-black/dp/PL09955

Don't use a UK visitor type travel adapter. They're rarely compliant with UK safety standards and are inconvenient: you either have to leave it plugged in (and effectively lose a socket) or unplug it every time (and remember where you put it!).
