Morning folks.
Outdid is very frosty, the fields are white and look crunchy. For now I'm staying under my duvet for a wee while longer.

Good morning, thanks for starting Gers. It's a lovely morning but frosty, everything is sparkling in the sun.Yesterday was a nice day but the north wind spoilt it, it was freezing.I did a big shop at Al*i yesterday, and caught upo with a bit of housework. Today we'll be taking things over to the caravan, we are going away on Easter Monday to a site near York, so that will be lovely.Thinking of our poorly and sad people today, hope everyone has as good a day as they can.Take care folks14

Morning folks and thanks GERS for starting us off. Blooming cold here too with a thick frost covering everything. But the sky is blue and the sun is shining, a beautiful start to the day. Yesterday was reasonably pleasant in the sun but flippin' cold out of it. It's supposed to get warmer this week but, of course, the price to pay will be rain!!
No plans for today other than pottering on, then making lunch and probably an afternoon under my heated throw with a book. I have nearly finished my current book and towards the end it's been pretty harrowing reading - the diary of a POW in a Japanese labour camp. It's fiction but could so easily have been true. I might pick a more light hearted book to read next.
There's still another cup of coffee left in the pot so will have that and then I'll shift my arris and get myself moving. Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones and convalescing. RUBY the funeral service sounded so terribly sad. It will take your SIL some time to come to terms with everything. Thinking of NRA. Take care one and all and be safe xx

Poppy - I hope that a wee sleep will give you more strength.Izzy - I understood about the dry cleaners. It's not that I can't be bothered with doing it myself (duvets, quilted jacket and now gilet), I don't have a tumble drier!I'm now properly awake and all ready to face the day. There's a very large packet of kitchen rolls which has to go into the small barn and stashed on the shelving, which'll need to be tidied first. It's a good incentive to do the long-needed tidy up but I'll have to wrap myself well first. The sun is struggling to break through the low cloud, I'm rooting for it to win. Lunch will be lasagna with a side dish of roasted peppers 😋 then I'm going to do a little bit of knitting. A few weeks ago I bought a pattern set for a bobble hat 'designed' by our Olympic diver. The wool is a lovely thick merino which is knitted on 10mm needles, it'll take no time to finish but I get easily bored and distracted. There's another episode of Slow Horses to catch up with, I can hear it calling to me. 😀Thoughts to our poorlies. Ruby, I hope that you're doing OK.
Happy Sunday to all.12 -
Morning all
Bright and sunny here but quite cold with it, I have a wash on the go and that can go on the line for a while it should dry well.
Had sisters pup for the night and she is such a lovely girl, slept all night without a peep she was shattered after a long walk and then a good play with big pup during the evening.
Will do a bit of housework this monring and then get the dogs to the beach for a good walk, our two love the sea but pup does not like water thank you very much ! she dips a toe in and then runs the other way !
The crab last night was delicious we had some prawns with it and a salad and bread and butter, it was so tasty so I will be getting one again, its a husband and wife team from the next village, he catches them and she dresses them, they were caught yesterday morning and we ate them last night so very fresh.
Dinner tonight will be burger in a bun and chips, OH will cook tonight which gives me the night off from cooking.
Have good days all and stay safe xxxx13 -
Hi everyone,
We're just watching the grand prix we recorded this morning. It's going to be a quiet start to the day because I'm aching today, a sure sign that I've overdone things this week.
We have said we'll meet Chris and Crystal for a walk but I'll have to see how I feel. Salmon and salad for dinner. I've been making a small round, rainbow playmat for Crystal so I want to finish the top. I will back it with fleece rather than doing a quilt sandwich so it shouldn't take long to do.
Thinking of all the poorly, stressed and sad people.13 -
Morning all well dog has been walked and fed but in other news DH has covid he worked with someone wed/Thursday both wearing masks who came down with a positive test Friday despite testing all week as they thought they picked it up last weekend Grrr DH tested Friday at work and yesterday morning both negative as he had a cough but during the day it got worse so i made him test again last night now positive fingers crossed DS and I stay negative as everyone is with us for Easter . Right better get on want to do as much as i can today luckily i dont need any shopping so as long as i can get a delivery for Thursday i will be fine i will stay indoors and isolate as well

Morning all the sun is out but there's no warmth in it, hope it will warm up later. I'm a bit late but I was interrupted by a video call from DD and family, they are on the beach in the sun in 65-70 degrees, it's a balmy 4 degrees here 🙁 Am I jealous ? You bet !!
Yesterday I needed to clean out the cupboard under the sink as I had spilt some washing power and Eureka ! I found the sugar soap at last, it had fallen down the back of the cupboard into no mans land. I also had a good declutter while I was in there. In the afternoon I planted 2 plants and then I moved a tall shrub with a bit of muscle help and then I gave it a trim, the shrub not the help 😂. We watched the new Spiderman movie last night and the film was ok but I think it's more geared to the young teenage market.
Today I have to feed Teddy rabbit, tidy up the shrub trimmings and do a bit of weeding as I ran out of steam yesterday. We are having Chinese style pork steaks for tea today, so nothing taxing to cook.
Hope everyone has a good Sunday. Hugs to those in need.
Take care all
nan xx
PS Bella sorry that DH has covid, hope his symptoms are mild. My fingers are crossed that your Easter plans can go ahead.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently13 -
Hi all
A hundred things I could do today but the rules in this house state that Sundays are PJs and sloth like activities all day. Sleep has been evading me again so I figure it will do me good. Last night I had a nice early night as usual then a phone call after 11 woke me (always scary) anyway it was the neighbour letting me the whole estate had a power cut and did I want any candles. Stayed in bed instead chose to try to go back to sleep. Its incredible how black it is when everything goes off which i know sounds stupid but when it did come back on a couple of hours later I couldn't believe how light it was once the neighbour opposites light show all round the house came back on and the lamppost at the end of the drive clicked back on as well a my Alexa spinning round kindly informing me it couldn't connect to the internet. I could see an argument last night for a black out to save energy in the early hours.
Mum is finally settled in her temporary home and started her isolation for new patients. Poor thing must be desperate to get home after all the moves she's had to make. Apparently it will be a few days and then starts a whole new load of challenges as we see if she can look after herself...I'm very dubious but hope to be proved wrong
Tonights meal will be HM chilli, cheese and salsa in those new Pitta pockets. Confess to been sold on them from the ads but couldn't believe how much they were charging so left them but saw a flash sale on my delivery this week so here we go.
Right time to get on with being busy doing nothing
Enjoy your Sunday everyone
