Good morning all, like many of you frosty start, but sunny now not as cold, but still a nip when out of the sun.
Quick top up shops in Aldi and Sainsburys yesterday, otherwise a lazy day as I felt compelled to finish my book!
Chap next door has Covid, OH and he chat over the fence quite often, he is difficult to understand sometimes as he sort of runs his words together so end up being closer than desired to understand him, neg test - phew.
Virtual hugs to Poppy, NRA, Nelski and DM and get well soon vibes to Bella's DH.
Take care all.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)13 -
Afternoon all. Today started bright and sunny and feeling a little bit milder, but the sun has deserted us now although it's forecast to stay dry for today at least.
I'm so sorry to hear you're not feeling good poppy. take it easy.
Ruby, I have crab & prawn envy!
bella, I hope you and DS manage to steer clear of the dreaded Covid now that DH has tested positive and that your Easter plans can go ahead. It goes to show how easily it can be picked up.
I could do with some sugar soap too nanny, but I know I'm down to the last dregs and no spare. It's a long trek to the DIY shop so I might have to make up a list to make it worth my while.
I'm with you on the Sunday rules Nels. I'm glad to hear your mum is now in her temporary home at last and hope she can make good progress in advance of going home. I hope your optimism wins over the doubts. It's very unsettling for all concerned.
DH spent the night on the sofa as he can still only manage a few steps and the living room currently looks like a bedsit. We managed OK with the toilet arrangements, although not ideal obviously, and he managed a wash and shave this morning with a bowl of water, soap & flannel. I brought him some clean clothes down too so he's feeling a bit more chipper. It's keeping me fit too with all the running around.Last night felt very strange being in a bed by myself.
Dinner today is roast beef & gravy (from freezer), mash and cabbage. There'll probably be some potato and cabbage left over - if so, I'll use that in the morning for bubble & squeak with some bacon. I'm just waiting for some poached chicken thighs to cool down then I can strip the meat off for tomorrow's Thai green curry. I'll be using the poaching water as a stock base for this week's soup that will probably be celery & bacon.
Other than that, it's a lounging around day with not a lot going on. Oh well, I'm sure I'll make up for it during the week.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, healing thoughts for the poorlies and hugs to anyone who needs/wants one. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.13 -
Good afternoon,
It was sunny 🌞 and quite warm this morning, I went for a 5 mile walk, the spring flowers 💐 were lovely, celandine, Marsh marigolds, bluebells and wood anemones, they made me smile.
We finished putting the glass in the Greenhouse, luckily had enough bits to replace the ones that had got broken, we moved the planters back in and I will refill them next week.
Watching Man City v Liverpool, come on you sky blues ⚽️
Fish cakes and veg tonight will do a roast beef dinner tomorrow.
Have as good a day as you can 🌻9 -
Lovely Palm Sunday service at Church this morning.
Mr F is just tidying up after cutting the front lawn.
I finished 14 knitted chicks as someone had asked for 6 & another for 10 and I had 2 in stock - now the 6 buyer wants 8 so I need to finish another 2 - roll on Easter.
As you can see in photo - not tidied my craft table yet.
