I've just realised that my out of contract moblle phone with plusnet for £7.40, is still on 3G!
You definitely need to sort that out, then! £7.40 for 1GB of 3G data isn't what this forum is about ;)

Do you know if SMARTY is any good? They are offering a 60G data with unlimited texts and calls, for £10 a month. TCB seems to offering cashback too?

Smarty are Three's budget brand (although some Three offers work out cheaper). Three's network isn't quite as comprehensive as the others but if you get Three signal, Smarty should work for you.

I use Lebara as my main broadband (rural area), but I did try all the providers first with a sim to check, rather than relying on the online signal checkers. If you have a few internet connected things, a dedicated 4g router might be a better bet than hammering your phone battery/
OK, having read the mobile section, I think I understand what you mean now: the sim goes in the 4G router?

Use the SIM in my phone and if the signal is good, use that in the router?

Looking on Amazon, there are so many 4G routers; what should I be looking for when I buy one?

BT have confirmed that I will need to pay to connect a telephone line if I use traditional(?) broadband.
