Did you not think of getting a benefits check or at least using a benefits calculator before applying for UC?

OK maybe that should of sunk in but it didn't,so punish me,anyway besides that my child tax credit is now nothing, but I still have a child who misses out , THATS NOT RIGHT

You're not being punished, it's the rules. No one forced you to claim UC, you claimed it yourself, therefore the only person to blame is yourself. As has been advised, there were warnings before you submitted that claim.

I’ve read on a few posts which I don’t understand maybe some people can explain that people were suggesting claiming UC a day after there other benefits have stopped . People were saying that they claimed the same day and they wasn’t entitled then claimed again few days/ week later and they were entitled.

Yes I understand that but that still doesn't make it right does it,,THE  CHILD loses out again!!!
  • I am an avid watcher of Mr Lewis and even though I will never be in the position to apply for UC, the advice about using a benefits checker is always highlighted in the narrative and graphics on his TV appearances.

I listen to GOLD on the radio and the information broadcasts there regarding the migration to UC also mentions not being able to revert once you apply.

Allowing people to flip-flop between systems has never been the intention.

There is nothing to appeal, you voluntarily made a decision to claim UC which stopped tax credits.
