Chase Bank - a bit like "Hotel California" - you can deposit - but it can never leave

Just moved 1k from savings to Current account went straight through.
Then 1k to other bank account, less than 60 seconds.
Then sent it back.0 -
Happy update; I had confusing advice from Chase - after waiting 4 hours - but persistence paid off! I found (without their help) "Move Money". and? I successfully moved money from my Chase current account to an external bank - immediately received at the external bank. To the person who railed about all the calls overwhelming Chase, I would only offer this. Not being able to withdraw my money is not trivial. With a well and long established international bank like Chase people might expect all this stuff to work - or at least be able to find out how to use the account via FAQs etc. Because they did not do the preparation prior to launch of a very attractive product, I would argue that Chase UK have made a rod for their own back. Many of you will have seen problems with Chase, reported from more than a week ago. So why are they still happening - surely not because of Covid?0

Sorry; p.sThanks to one of you I saw that you can make a transfer direct from Chase Saver to an external bank account.I still cannot make a transfer from my Chase Saver to an external account. It has to go through the Chase Current account.0

When you're making an external payment, in the 'From' section on the amount screen, have you tried clicking on the 'Current Account' entry ? That should bring up a list of your accounts to take the payment from, including the Chase Saver.djt12488 said:Sorry; p.sThanks to one of you I saw that you can make a transfer direct from Chase Saver to an external bank account.I still cannot make a transfer from my Chase Saver to an external account. Click Payments (on android, bottom middle)
On next screen, click on your Payee.
Select the To account
Now you should have a screen where you enter amount, reference (if you want to), and shows From and To accounts.
It defaults to your main current account as the From account.
Tap on that account, select your savings account from the list.
It should now show correct From To details.
Proceed to withdraw funds4 -

Is it possible you can clarify what the issue or the confusing advice was? Only that may help others if they experience the same, rather than keeping it a secret.djt12488 said:Happy update; I had confusing advice from Chase - after waiting 4 hours - but persistence paid off!
