Another guess (based on a message from Vodafone during port back). The Asda network may require a "chargeable event" to happen on the account to confirm the port has worked. Bummer if true since it would mean having to add credit.
Worthwhile experiment, good plan leaving it for a couple of days if you don't need o/bound comms on this SIM.

Try calling an 0800 number and see if that helps wake it up. It's how I keep an old giffgaff sim alive without topups.
You could try phoning your adds sim too to promot the network it's active.

That’s a brilliant idea about the 0800 number. I’ve just tried one for a 10 second call — no change. I don’t think it’s quite 24 hours since the number ported to ASDA yet though, so I’m keeping that at the back of my mind. I should really have hunted out T&Cd before porting.0

” Sorry, your PAC request is being processed by your new network provider and cannot be cancelled. You current mobile number will become inactive on <chosen port date>.”
Via the app it says “Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again later or contact support.”
I’ll leave it until Monday now I think.0
