488KWh is only 16KWh per day, not 40KWh.Benny2020 said:Its electricity which is the biggest problem here, you are using 40 kwh a day, i use 3 and most probably 5 - 10 a day so find out who is using all that leccy.
Gas is still 69 kwh a day which is more than can be accounted for in what you say you use.0 -
Yep, thats what I say we switch it on to heat the tank then off again twice per day. we don't put heating on as costing to much. No gas appliances its all electricmacman said:Basics: so what do you use gas for? How can you be using 68kWh per day if its 'hardly used'?
What is the name of your PAYG tariff?
When did you switch to Utilita?
Tell us how the property is heated and hot watered, and what gas appliances you have.
Gas heating is typically a third of the cost of electric heating, so use gas if you can.

833KWh per month is 28KWh per day, not 68KWh, and that is almost in line with hot water twice per day.macman said:Basics: so what do you use gas for? How can you be using 68kWh per day if its 'hardly used'?

Ill have get utilita on itOK, if you've got a smart meter with Utilita does that mean you've got an on-line account? Can you see your daily consumption there, split into 30-minute slices?Something like this (mine, yours will be very different):
A chart like that will give you an idea of when in the day you are using your electricity, and might help you reduce it.

Top tip, get covid and lose your smell (spread it around the members in the household) shower only when someone mentions it outside the house. Gas savings... measurable, loss of strangers not coming up to you outside the house....invaluable.
