Company withholding money

Options
So an order for goods was placed in my name, using my credit card, address and email details.
I received a confirmation email regarding the order which I immediately replied to explaining the transaction was made without my knowledge and requested the order be cancelled.
The company responded stating that I could not cancel the order as it had been processed and I would have to wait for the goods to arrive and return them.
Long story short, inform my credit card company, returned the goods and am now almost £200 out of pocket as the company are refusing to refund.

Aside from sorting this, have you taken the necessary steps to protect your card details?  Unless it was a friend/family member, some third party has all the information needed with which to commit fraud.

I have. Thankfully this was nipped in the bud as soon as it happened.
I have been fighting to get my money back since December :(

The company could come under another name, do a google search on the company.  I bought a vacuum and found out that it was part of a bigger company!    You can also add the company on resolver yourself to see if they will accept it.

Why are they refusing to refund? What have your bank said?

You're a bit light on helpful detail.

When you say an order "was placed in my name", what exactly do you mean?  Was this order placed in-store or was it done online?

If it was an online purchase, did you clearly tell the seller within 14 days of receiving the goods that you were cancelling the contract for a full refund?  If you did, you should be entitled to a refund.

If not a distance purchase it becomes "difficult"

Go back to your credit card company, then.

    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
