Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Dark, and dry, but rain forecast every day for the coming week.
DH watching catchup tv, DS1 getting ready for work, I'm enjoying my first cuppa whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was fish and rice, some LO cold chicken too. Not sure about tonight - I'm sure I'll find something.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning. I'm a long time lurker if this board but have been moving away from my old style ways. Have been reading this lovely thread daily as a bit of help to get me back on track. Thought I'd jump on and say hi!We're just back from a caravan holiday which was fantastic. Shocked by how much we spent on eating out. Ice cream for 4 comes to the best part of £15 now 😲
Back home today and back to reality. I'm at work. Will take a bean stew from my freezer stock. Kids are with the au pair today and dh at work. Will have dinner from leftover chilli / thinking of making burritos.
have a lovely day everyone.16 -
Morning all
Been raining here in the night and more due during the day, off to work and my least favourite day client wisethe time passes really quickly though which helps.
Dinner tonight will be sausages bacon eggs and mushrooms with some bread and butter so a nice easy dinner, dd working late tonight so she will eat at work.
DW has been emptied this morning and I will put a wash on before I go.
NRA I am so sorry to hear of your dear Dads passing sending love to you xxxx
Have good days all xxx14 -
Morning
NRA sorry to hear your sad news. Even if expected it doesn’t make it easier. I think we all expect out parents to live forever as all our lives they were our rocks. I still miss my dad been the first person I wanted to speak to with any news. I hope you are looking after yourself now and allowing yourself to grieve
This week has been a bit crazy. The hospital found a bed for mum in a care home for hospital respite. She was due to go today and I was meeting her social worker to discuss what the plan is. Call yesterday§ saying they wont accept her until she’s completed a period of isolation in hospital so we are back to square one. Waiting for the call to say shes gone but then it’s a window visit only as they do 10 days isolation too. Its so frustrating as everything is last minute. A large party in a brewery springs to mind.
I’m doing a bit better with cooking though this last minute stuff doesn’t help. Last night I had a really tasty Spanish tortilla
Nan I hope the bus company are playing ball sounds like the driver needs an eye test
Ruby sent me a lovely present this week which will stay with me forever.
I’ll leave it there for now just in case that call comes in hope you all have the best day you can

Morning folks.Nelski - my fingers are tightly crossed for you and your Mum, it's all so exhausting all round. Ruby - how kind of you. These little things mean so much.Welcome to zcrat41.Yesterday the weather was so foul I didn't go out, rain poured, wind howled and even the birds didn't come to feed. This morning there's an improvement and the sun seems to be trying to shine even though the forecast is rubbish again. An order arrived of new T-shirts which are so good, nice thick cotton and long enough to tuck in without gaping at the back. I usually have M&S ones but the quality seems to have gone from them, new ones are so thin they're almost see through. All my old ones are so much better, anyway, I spotted a recommendation in a different thread and decided to give them a try. Jackie - you'll be happy hear to that they're based on IoW.If the rain holds off, or at the very least isn't a bad as yesterday, I'll head out though even as I write this the sky has darkened and the sun has disappeared again. 😵💫
P.S. now torrential rain has arrived! For now, Happy Wednesday to all.16 -
Morning All
I'm off out this morning in the rain, I've volunteered to go to a hospital in Glasgow to help their study of a Covid drug, need to be there for 9. If selected I have to have blood tests and take tablets for 9 days then go back a few times to check the results. If it helps anyone recover more quickly from this horrid virus then I'm happy to do it.
What a mess Nelski, hope everything falls into place for you.
Welcome zcrat14.
Hope you hear something from the insurers soon Nanny.
Really hoping you feel better soon dp1, bet you're fed up with it all now.
Nothing else to report as I didn't do anything of note yesterday apart from some knitting. May have to wash some PJs later, my new favourite clothes!
Take care. XX13 -
Morning all little bit warmer today dog is walked and fed just awaiting the carpenter the doors for the wardrobe have arrived i will need to source a new curtain pole as i dont like the one that is there now and also it won't fit once the wardrobes are built i also will be looking for new light fittings and carpet the ones in there have never changed in the 50 years we have lived here very retro 70's it was a spare room so it hasn't had much use . I do miss BHS and the independent lighting shops as i am not sure where to start looking .
The climate protesters are out and about locally i get their point but they are targeting a deprived area where people are already struggling to eat or heat and now to stop them going to work is targeting the wrong people rant over
Nels Hopefully mum is moved today if you have any questions or not sure about anything PM me as DD1 is a hospital social worker so may be able to help
NRA Thinking of you this morning

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. It was throwing it down earlier but now we have blue sky emerging and it feels milder too.
I am a latecomer this morning but I have a note! I had the 2 youngest DGDs after school for tea and sleepover, with a break inbetween when they went to their various dance classes. Middle one is now bogged down with rehearsals for the EYB performance of Coppelia she is in towards the end of the month. She is doing a lot of pointe work and is worried she will end up with blisters on her toes again. One of the perils of being a ballet dancer sadly.
Anyway the day is now mine and there are the usual jobs awaiting. First job is to make soup, I think Tomato & Basil, for my upcoming lunches. I polished the Cheesy Cauliflower off yesterday. I have got a portion of hm chilli out to defrost for my tea. I shall have it with hm wedges I think.
Late afternoon I have the expense of the vets again. DD taking me on as usual since DS changed jobs and isn't home soon enough now. It will be the usual steroid injection and maybe some antibiotic tablets. As the consultation fee is £50 before medication gets added on it will be just shy of £100 again. But I love my little Sparkly Cat so she is worth the necessary expense!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all our poorlies and poorly loved ones. Welcome to ZCRAT41, nice to "meet" you. NELS I hope something is sorted soon for your DM's care that you are both happy with. COXY I was worn out reading your post, that's a lot of walking and the atrocious weather isn't helping. Thinking of NRA coping with her sad loss. Well done to you CAMELOT for volunteering for the Covid trial. and hoping DP1 perks up and is fit to enjoy Berlin. Take care one and all and stay safe xx

Morning everyone
Dry and bright here but quite windy.
I have little one later while DD is at work - I've booked her into the new soft play which is just down the hill from me - it should be nice and quiet as our schools don't break up till friday. I'll have a nice cuppa while she plays.
I made a big pan of soup yesterday so we'll have some of that for lunch. She loves soup and we've also discovered she loves hot cross buns.
We had a nice morning at mam and dads yesterday, my brother was there for a bit too. She had some lovely cards and flowers.
Well I'll wish you all a good day. Take care x14 -
Hi everyone,
I'm posting on my phone which I hate doing.
Bella, Crystal is my daughter-in-law. She had the scan and everything is fine, they have decided to wait for a surprise on the sex.
Esben is on good form after his stomach bug/kinder egg salmonella, whichever it was. I might go to soft play with him because it's raining today.
Have a good day.13
