Hello all, well it rained hard last night but the sun is out now, doesn't look too good for the rest of the day though. Mr Fix It has his ear permanently stuck to the phone lately waiting for the call for our car to be picked up and a replacement delivered today. We've had a curtesy call from the insurance people already this morning, they were checking on how we are and that garage etc are doing their jobs. Hopefully the bus company will not be awkward and pay up tout suite.
Yesterday Mr Fix It took Dad for his jab, the place was utter chaos with queues of about 150 people, all elderly or disabled and nowhere for them to sit. They did provide some wheelchairs, yes 7 of them 😠 no good for that amount of people. Dad was glad to come back and have some tea with us. Later he was happy to go home with extra casserole, bread rolls and lo sandwiches, which should keep him going for today. Oh and I gave him his Easter Egg even though he'll be here Easter Sunday for his lunch, thought he might like it to nibble on before hand.
Nothing planned for today only emptying the dw and cooking tea, think that will be a sort of spanish omelette as there are some bits of lo food in the fridge and I seem to have a glut of eggs.
Nels hope things get sorted today, you must be so frustrated.
zcrat41 Hello and welcome to the OS Daily family, looking forward to getting to know you.
TA good luck with Sparkle, hope she plays nicely with you and the vet.
RedRuby thanks for sending a pressie to Nels, you're so thoughtful. Hope you have a good day with your not so nice client. Fingers crossed for your appointment tomorrow too.
Izzyb hope you get your fascinator, I had to make my own as I couldn't get the right colour anywhere.
Bella the building/decorating doesn't stop does it ? One thing always seems to lead to another that needs changing.
Camelot well done on putting yourself forward.
Gers I too have given up on the new M&S tee shirts, they are only good for rags after a short while.
Sorry if I've missed anyone out 😟
Take care all

Morning all. Yesterdays forays in helping out at the art class went OK, learned a little bit of sign language, enough to say good morning, you're welcome and orange...
Came straight back, was very tired afterwards, after not much sleep the night before I had a few naps...I have a day of cleaning and organising on the cards, two friends are coming for coffee tonight and its's looking a bit messy in here. I've got so much stuff hanging around waiting for the tip, the charity shop and recycling it's really getting on my nerves. Never mind, first world problems eh? I fancy gyro's tonight so will be getting out the shredded chicken from the freezer and putting it in a marinade in a bit. It'salready cooked but I reckon if I marinade it and superhot fry it, it should get crispy bits but remain quite pliable. Famous last words, we'll see....
snoozer, good news on the scan! Izzy, I laughed at lot at your no chicken chicken stew!camelot, hope the drugs work. Nels, so blummin frustrating when a spanner is inserted. I hope this means they will properly work on a package now there are ten days extra to do it in. So so annoying, frustrating and demoralising. you are a rock star. And how lovely of Ruby ...Coxy, that sounds exhausting and slightly dangerous with the hypothermia stuff...Rosy, happy new lappy...Look after yourselves, it's weather for ducks...

Just popping back...
Little one had a lovely time at soft play...there were only about 6 other children so it was nice and quiet...well apart from her dulcet tones ...'Granny where are you?' every few minutes! I really don't like soft play places when they're busy.
I had a lovely hot chocolate and a nice catch up with an old neighbour who works there.
We came home and had some of the soup I made yesterday for lunch - little one tucked in. She is now fast asleep so I'm having some peaceful time on here.11 -
Afternoon all. It's coffee time chez nous so I'm popping in with my day's doings before I forget.
It's a bit of a mixed bag weather wise today, sunshine and showers, breezy as well. We're still having to have the heating on first thing in the morning and again later in the evening but are managing OK during the day without it. Roll on to when it can go off altogether.
Today I've had the WM on with a darks wash but have put everything on the airer as I can't be bothered running in and out to bring it in when the rain arrives.
Food wise, I've had a rummage in the freezer and have taken out some sausage for a casserole tomorrow that will also use up the last of some mushrooms and half a red pepper. I've also taken out the last two portions of soup. One is parsnip & potato and the other is pea & ham. Tonight we're having bacon chops, stuffed pepper and chips. This lunchtime we shared a cheese & salad wrap followed by fruit & jelly, so that's all the bits and pieces used up from the fridge.
I have a sm delivery coming tomorrow, first shop of the month (apart from £1 odd on Sunday) so fingers crossed everything will be in stock. It's a mix of store cupboard and fresh stuff plus a few bits for the freezer - completely out of F&V and almost out of fresh milk. As expected, more price increases - 5p on a sliced loaf (I make my own bread but prefer the sm loaf for toast) and another 10p on butter. I say "another 10p" because it's only a couple of weeks ago that it went up 15p. Grr.Hello zcrat41 and welcome.
Oh Nels, what a shambles! I know the virus has changed so many things but really - your party/brewery comment sounds right. Let’s hope the time passes quickly, it’s so frustrating for you both.
I agree bella, whenever I’ve looked I haven’t seen anything I like - or at least that’s within my budget. Our main light in the living room is a chandelier I got from BHS years ago and is always admired by anyone who visits. I do miss BHS for their home wares.
Sparkle’s a lucky cat, TA. It's such a shame it’s a long term thing.
Fingers crossed for the babies, snoozer. I’m sure whatever the sex, he/she/they will be welcome.
Coffee finished, so it's time to make a move. Take care one and all. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.14 -
Good afternoon
Late one from me, the day seems to have run away with me.
Went to a friends for coffee ☕this morning then went for a walk, my first in a week, did make me feel better.
Went to open a new piece of cheese🧀 and found a split in the packaging. The cheese had got mould on the outside so being mse I cut it all off and have grated the rest, it tastes fine😋
My thought to all the poorly, sad and worried
Have as good a day as you can🌻

Sunfl0w3r - I worked in a supermarket many years ago - cheese going mouldy went back to the stock room - was trimmed, reweighed and put back out for sale.
Been to friendship/lunch club from 10 - 2.
Still knitting chicks for orders.
Need to buy baking powder as I plan a big baking session to cater at the funeral on Friday.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

A quick hello while it is still Wednesday, I seem to have been out of the house such a lot this week and will be again Thursday and Friday, lovely, but takes quite a lot of energy.
Haircut today with an amazing head massage, I hadn't realised how much tension I was holding in my head and scalp, great craic with lovely S too.
Weather has been really "April" alternating downpours with short bright sunny spells. Builders turned up today to lay/widen/relay paths in the rear garden, they got soaked and called it a day a bit early - didn't mind that at all - like drowned rats. Also brought a new mixer tap for kitchen for me, swan necked and with levers, will fit that tomorrow, it should really help my pain levels as the old one is so stiff I need 2 hands to operate it.
DDawg still happy, eating and wanting to go walks, tiring more easily and turns for home when she had had enough.
Sending condolences to NRA, hugs to Nelski, Poppy and those with or recovering from Covid. I was in contact with someone last Thursday who tested positive on Saturday, have done tests regularly and still clear - phew!
Apologies for those not mentioned, catch up tomorrow with luck. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)10 -
Hi all
Sorry to hear your sad news NRA. And best wishes to those who are poorly or looking after poorly people. Just back from work in time for the rain to come on, forecast isn't great for the next couple of days but a bit better for Saturday. Another busy day at work so it'll be a simple dinner (something and oven chips) and a quiet night in front of the TV. Am in the middle of a bout of insomnia so will keep my fingers crossed for a better night's sleep tonight.
take care everyone

We're back home, we had a very busy trip to the maritime museum, Esben loved running around there.
Yorkslass, sorry for the confusion I am causing - Dil Crystal is 20 weeks pregnant with a singleton, DD Laura is 8 weeks pregnant with twins atm. She is having a scan tomorrow morning so we will maybe have a bit more info tomorrow.8
