clearscore increased score

As a regular reader of this forum I'm aware of the strong views about credit scores and their lack of value.

Purely as a source of amusement then - I moved home last year, retired, took a part-time job and culled my bank accounts and credit cards. My report has been very boring ever since, no debt, most expenditure put through a cashback credit card, the other cards largely unused.

I received an email from clearscore saying my score had changed and to check it out. I logged in and the score has gone up by 244 points. I've no idea why, no changes to my circumstances. There isn't a report due yet - purely a change in score. It isn't their recalibration to a 1000 point scale, that happened some time ago.

Well my Clearscore credit score is 1000 and has been for a couple of months but Credit Karma (as always, miserable) emailed me on Monday to say that my score had dipped and I need to do more 'work' and they can tell me what to do. I can tell them what to do, too.

I deleted both messages. I don't care what they say. I know my credit's good and I know my report is too. Hopefully Credit Karma will catch on soon but to be told that you're not doing well enough can sometimes be a bit disheartening.

Experian tell me that my credit score is excellent, as is my report.

I have now blocked messages from all the CRAs. I don't need their judgements.

Nobody sees any of your scores, that's true. It's not just 'strong views' of people on here.

But you should be able to see your report if Clearscore has contacted you and you have logged in to your account.

It wasn't that recalibration. That happened before, the new score only happened today.

My clearscore score hasn't moved in months - yet I've opened accounts - closed accounts - had credit limit increases - I think it's glitched and stuck as they are supposed to go randomly up and down when you make changes to your credit history. I should be complaining that it's not moving enough :) At least yours has moved.
