It is indeed sad that our essential costs of living have been privatised so that companies are profiting from us having no choice to do something. Especially when we have no choice of whether we live or not. Now they are profiting on our misery. Just like the pharmaceutical industry.Point 5 about feet is the one I agree with. If my feet are warm I'm totally fine.My tip is to use a hairdryer for bursts of heat to keep the bed warm or get it warm before sleep. Keep the hairdryer plugged in beside the bed and blast some heat before wrapping up and keeping it in. No idea how much that would cost.lizum213 said:I'm a chartered engineer specialising in the design of buildings, including heating.2

We've bought a couple of Snugglesafe microwave pet bed warmers. 7 mins in the microwave for up to 10 hours warmth. Lasts longer than a hot water bottle.

What makes today different is that around a dozen massive conglomerates have controlling interests in the vast majority of global businesses and, crucially, the media.0

I am not sure if this has been said, but one way to not waste heat in the kitchen is, once whatever you have in the oven has finished cooking, leave the oven door open to let the residual heat out. We do not have a radiator in the kitchen and I leave the oven door open after cooking, it is amazing the difference it makes.
