A.J.Bell - You invest platform - OK?

I have and AJ Bell SIPP and Interactive Investor SIPP, I like them both but AJ Bell is a much slicker interface. I have had issues with II, they screwed up some transfers and I raised a case with the financial ombudsman. They ended up paying me £15,000 compensation, they didn't challenge it as allegedly they have a back log of cases with the ombudsman

I use them for my LISA, and it's fine for my needs - year 3 and no real complaints, although I find the login a bit of a faff (random characters from password rather than password/2FA or similar). I use others for ISAs based on minimising costs

It really depends how much you intend to invest. AJ Bells charges for funds at 0.25% do add up if your portfolio has a large amount in funds. I had 200k in funds and realised i was paying a high amount in fees every month that was adding up to £500 a year with AJ Bell.
I already had an investment account with Interactive investor so moved it to them and I am now saving that £500 a year in fees for no extra cost. For funds for larger amounts ii is most competitive as its a fixed fee no matter how much is invested.
For your £50k if its all in funds - then AJ Bell will be £125 a year vs ii £120 a year. But as the value grows then your AJ Bell fees will go up but in ii it will stay the same fixed price.
The transaction price for funds on ii is higher - however you get one free trade credit included every month within your subscription and the trade credits stay valid for 3 months so I end up not really paying transaction fees at all as i am a passive investor.
These articles might help you decide: ( I have no affiliation - these are just what helped me decide to move mine)

Thanks for all replies.
I've opened an account and up to now have found it to be good, will start investing today and see how that works out.0 -
Just an update on the A.J.Bell platform.
I have opened an ISA account with them, up to now all has gone ok.
The transfer of a cash ISA to them has gone through ok, communication seems good and I am finding the platform dealing pages easier than Fidelity.
Hopefully all will continue well.0
