There was a suggestion , possibly on here or on the eBay community boards that an odd amount encourage buyers something to do with how you perceive what you are paying. Wherever it was a saw it I did give it a go , so instead of say £6.99 I set the BIN at £7.11. I can’t say it made much difference on either BIns or auctions.

    More tips:

I have all my listings (currently only 42) ending around the same time (between 18:00 and 20:00 on Saturday evenings).
That gives the poster time to pay and me time to package up on Sunday before I post on Mondays.

When I have my proof of posting, I make a note of which item went to which address just in case of queries.

How do you find your end times work out for sales ? for me Saturdays are possibly my slowest day, that and Friday and anything before about 7.30 pm never seems to attract good end prices. In fact I nearly added a note about end times for auctions to my tips thread and would have said avoid Fridays and Saturdays when a lot of people go out, or just relax at the end of the working week. I suppose though it depends on what you sell.

virtually all my listings are BINs but when I do use an auction I end it after 7.45 Sunday through to Thursday night. Looking at my sales, Monday night is a very popular time for BIN sales for me.

It works fine for me but I'm not a business seller, just clearing out personal stuff that I don't want for a bit of cash.
It's something I started instead of taking stuff to a charity shop.
I wouldn't want the hassle of items ending daily.
The way I do it means one trip to the Post Office per week.
I don't do BIN, just auctions.

I think it really depends on how and why you use eBay.

I’ve always been interested in using timings to increase sales, not quite so important for my business sales as they are around 95% BIN but I do use a few auctions for my private sales. I do find as well that some people are slow payers , so if I ended up using a Saturday finish I am unlikely to have it all paid for before Monday morning anyway. I might try a few Saturdays and see if it affects my end prices.

Thanks for the tips about end times soolin,  I hadn't really thought too much about Friday and Saturday end times.
I tend to have evening end times as you get more people likely to be online.
I try for an end time of Thursday as the chances are the person will pay for the item and I can get it in the post Saturday which does seemto work.
May you find your sister soon Helli.
    Sleep well.

Maybe it's about what you're selling. Or the value.
Last week, I sold 4 items and all were paid within 15 minutes of the auction ending.
In my experience it's very rare for an item not to be paid for by Sunday morning

One of the factors for ebay is also your rating, so buy or sell a number of items and get good ratings and your listings will be promoted above those with a lower rating, and also buyers will trust you more as a seller.

I'm fiercely protective of my feedback, both as a buyer and seller.
I like to pay as soon as I possibly can - I use this as an incentive if I'm making an offer.
I almost always leave feedback, both as a buyer and seller.
Quite often, I'll also send a message to the seller telling them how much I like an item.
In addition to marking a sold item as 'dispatched', I'll send a message to the buyer telling them the exact time and date I've posted an item.

I don't overload my postage charges. Excessive charges - such as £8.00 for an item that is being posted 2nd class small parcel costing £3.35 - really put me off.

I make use of the 12 free photos, including measurements/weights where appropriate.
I give as much detail in the description as I can.

I have 5 stars for reasonable postage costs, delivery times, accurate description and communication.

Sunday evenings used to be a good time to end listings.  Wednesday afternoon seemed to be the worst. Although when
buying from an auction listing I have had some great bargains buying on that day.

Another tip is make sure you can find your listing from a word search. I have come across listings that just did not appear
when searched with the title/product name. Even viewing the sellers other items page showed that they had nothing to sell.
I thought it was a scam at first and made trebly sure I had logged into ebay not a fake URL and that I paid with paypal again
being very careful it really was paypal.

Well the item arrived safe and sound, even leaving feedback showed nothing on the sellers details??? Really strange.
Good for me it was a bargain, obviously not for the seller as something went badly wrong for them.

Only found it because they posted the URL on another website/forum.

    I have a couple of tips people advised me on and I found them helpful;

    1. If Buyers are asking sensible questions add the question and answer into the listing or amend the description as other buyers may have similar questions.

    2. Always read the Buyers question carefully and don't respond without thinking. Some questions can be naïve/unscrupulous; I had a Buyer yesterday ask if an item came with a USB or 3 pin Plug for mains power. I explained I wasn't sure as it was an unwanted gift and was still sealed in the box. They then asked me to open the box as breaking the seal "wouldn't affect the value"
