It is only April 5th, (3rd working day) so still plenty of time.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

Our council said they will issue them towards end of April- funnily enough it’s just over the April DD payment

There was an earlier post which suggested the councils would not pay this until  they had received your first installment of Council Tax
Never pay on an estimated bill

It's not a council tax rebate.

It's any "energy rebate" paid via the council tax system to ensure all the correct homes get it.
I'm writing a book on plagiarism. It wasn't my idea.

I don’t have a direct debit,I pay each month at the pay point in the co op.I am aware my rebate will take longer because of that. That should be interesting! I am going to use mine- when I get it- to buy smokeless coal,as it’s an energy rebate.

The bit I don't understand is that councils are saying it is a software problem - they knew about this a while ago anyway but surely isn't it just a case of amending one direct debit instruction?

Am I reading this correctly, once the council takes my money off me via DD, I will get the 150 back?

You would like to think so, but checking the Gov website it says that the Councils have to pay it to you before the end of September - I am guessing the majority will leave it sitting inter accounts collecting interest until the very last moment...
