Bungalow demolish and rebuild 3/4 bedroom house

Hi Has anyone in the West Bromwich/Birmingham area demolished a bungalow and rebuilt as a house, I am looking at a bungalow but it seems to add another floor or do it up would cost so much that it might be cheaper to rebuild it as a house. If anyone has done this can they advise how much it cost please and what builders…

Is a loft conversion an option?

We have bought an old 3-bed bungalow with an oversized roof - the plan is to put 2 x bedrooms and a bathroom in the roof space. Looking at £50-£75k as will need a new roof frame/retiled etc. We have had planning agreed for 2 x dormer windows on the front, plus french doors with a balcony in the gable end. It was made easier for us though as the oversize roof means we have a lot of height to play with in the refurb..i know it can be more problematic for more compact loft spaces.
