Homemade Butter

Little boy came home from school other day, had been baking bread, so started thinking about my own schooldays where we made bread and butter. Hubby also says he remembers making butter. Does anyone remember how it was done?

I remember having a go at making my own butter (sadly, as an adult not a child!) and was very disappointed at the small amount made from such a large amount of cream!

And my arms ached...

I won't. From my own schooldays, seem to remember only small amount being made. BTW did you use same recipe that 160 posted?

Did just use cream but seem to remember adding a pinch of salt at the end as well.

check your bread maker books mine makes butter as well as jam and cakes ;D it was only a cheapy as well

yeah mine does too apparently. gotta be easier on the arms. ;D
