Tesco Mobile reduces Clubcard points value

Today (4/3/22) Tesco Mobile sent an email out telling customers that the value of Clubcard Points into vouchers is cut to 1 for 1 from 2 for 1 i.e. not double value. This effectively increases mobile bills. Does this have any impact on my current plans in terms of being able to cancel before then end of the contract without penalties? This cange is effective from voucher exchanges after Friday 15th June.
To explain, I realise that it isn't much but my 2 contracts add up to £26 per month, then being reduced by £3.50 using the 174 points collected each month by paying the bill and being eligible for Family Rewards (of 150 points per month) because of the 2 contracts rather than 1. I will now receive about £1.75 in benefit rather than £3.50.
I realise that Tesco are not hiking prices annually lke all the other networks if the contract does not change but it is a small effective price increase. The next move might be to remove the Family Rewards which (again) is effectively a price rise.

Yes, I completely agree that it is unacceptable.
Last November I took out a 12 month SIM only contract for my teenage son and a 18 month phone contract for myself. Despite being able to find cheaper deals Despite with Tesco’s competitors, I chose Tesco Mobile, knowing that I would be able to use my Clubcard vouchers to pay for these contracts (I have a Tesco credit card and shop regularly at Tesco, so I collect a lot of points). I am now in the position where, come June, I will be struggling to make the £38.98 payment each month as my vouchers will be worth half what they used to be.I understand that Tesco is entitled to make changes like these, but I think it is unacceptable to do so with only 2 months notice. It leaves people like me who have committed to long and expensive mobile contracts in a difficult financial situation.0 -
Furthermore, I received a marketing email from Tesco Mobile today still promoting the fact that you can double up your Clubcard vouchers to pay for a new phone or use towards your new bill as a way of encouraging you to buy a new phone. Even the small print at the bottom of the email makes no mention that the double up finishes on the 15th June 2022.0
