18 overnight? That may be one reason why your use is high, mine is off once I am snuggled under a duvet.

No heating at night.0

Definitely try turning it off overnight. Our heating goes off at 10.00 and back on at about 6.15. I think the house drops down to about 14 degrees overnight but we don't notice it in our beds. 18 degrees is our daytime thermostat temperature! Should make a big difference but you won't truly see the benefit until next winter.MFW since March 2019Mortgage-free 30th June 2023

You should be able to turn heating off 1 - 2 hours before you go to bed, as it does take a while to drop in temperature.1

No heating overnight either. We alternate between winter and summer duvets. As the seasons change.
If you feel cold during the day then move rather than sitting still. Take a walk at lunchtime and get the circulation pumping.0 -
I too suggest that you turn the heating off overnight. Mine has been off for about 8 hours now and the Hive app is showing my temperature at 17.5°C right now - might be a bit less after a very cold night. If nothing else, I can't stand the sound of the heating on overnight.1

What temperature was it when the heating went off?BooJewels said:I too suggest that you turn the heating off overnight. Just asking as my high is normally 17.5°C.0 -
The thermostat for late evening is set to 19°C and I manually advanced it to the overnight setting a bit before I went to bed as I was plenty warm. It must have been mild overnight as it normally drops more than that - I'd expect around 16°C after a few hours with no heating. Interestingly, it dropped to 17.1°C when I opened all the curtains this morning. Normally, the heating would be on by then, but I'd turned it off as there was a job I wanted to do with a pipe when cold.k_man said:

We have ours on 15 overnight but it rarely comes on.
We don’t have it completely off because it could get cold and then you’ll just pay more to heat it back up again, so this is a happy medium when it rarely comes on.0 -
We also have our heating on at 15 overnight (19 during the day). I think there's only been one night, in the past 6 months, that it's actually kicked in.#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3660
