Have you heard from HSBC exactly where they sent your money? I expect it’s somewhere in J P Morgan, but not Chase, as they don’t accept CHAPS.492800 said:Well, 3 weeks on, and still not got my money.
Last message from chase made it sound like they had nothing on file and wanted all my details again and would look into it, contradicting the message 2 days previously that the money had left their account.
!!!!!!.
I know they don't accept CHAPS but surely they have contingencies for issues like this!
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
This is crazy. Not sure how the OP can sleep at night. One of the reasons I asked for a cheque and to collect in person from the solicitor's office when I sold my house recently, which I then took immediately to my local branch and insisted that it was paid in by hand and not just deposited in one of their machines.0

I remember years (OK decades) ago receiving cash. I forget the details but vividly remember collecting cash in a brief case from a bank, crossing the road (keeping a close lookout for muggers and the like) and paying the money in to another bank.

Hi.
Did you get the money returned? If so, what process did you have to follow? We have just encountered the same problem (also with money leaving HSBC and going into Chase).
Thanks0 -
Most UK banks are able to receive CHAPS payment. it is surprising that Chase bank a/c does not have this facility!Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0

The OP has been back on this forum 10 days ago, but hasn’t said how it went. I imagine that the money was recovered eventually.94MSELB said:Hi.
