Has anyone started a thread to list the cheapest place to buy lateral flow tests now that they are no longer free?

I've seen quite a few articles comparing the high-street stores and the supermarkets seem to be cheaper than the pharmacist. Timeout magazine pointed me to Medisave as they stated that they were selling them at £0.99. However, they are out of stock of the 99p version and only have a £1.39 version and then there is delivery on top of that. Please let me know if there is a cheaper place to buy a lateral flow test

  • I thought that I would add, for anyone reading this, that the £1.39 lateral flow tests have a delivery charge and there is VAT on the cost and delivery. As an example 20 test with the cheapest delivery cost £1.85 each.
I have seen that Morrisons pharmacy are reportedly selling them at £1.75 each

If you haven't ordered from Lloyds Pharmacy before, they give you a 10% off your first order.
They charge £9.29 for the FlowFlex tests in a box of 5, which would come £8.36 with the 10% discount, something like £1.67 per test. Click&Collect is free if you spend more than £20 (more than £30 if you want home delivery).

I would have thought for the next couple of weeks there would be enough people with spare boxes.

Medisave is reporting more stock of the 99p (+VAT) LFTs from Apr 8th.

Yes still paying for a people to “have a lot of spare boxes”.

If I happen to live in Scotland or Wales - is there anything stopping me from sending my spare tests to friends and family in England?

In practical terms, it's fine for LFT. It won't work for PCR as the recipient won't be able to register it to themselves.

They're winding down in Scotland, getting more difficult to find, and ending here soon.
  • Not buying them is the cheapest way unless you're CEV, and frankly, even they don't need them either.
