FedEx problem

I ordered an antique radio from an auction house in the US last year in March, shipped via FedEx and the shippers had done the correct paperwork with the 5% historical collectable tarif code. When the parcel arrived at Stansted, the FedEx rep input the wrong code for "Toys and games" at the regular tarif rate. I have all evidence to support this and even the operators name.
After several months of emails and many phone calls and another incorrect code they submitted, plus threatening "final notice" letters, things were finally resolved in September with them being reimbursed by HMRC, but no apology for their massive error. Did not receive any more emails/invoice/letters from FedEx, but just now received a threatening letter from controlaccount to immediately pay £28 or it goes up by £15 on Monday. This saga has been most stressful to correct their mistake, where do I stand in all this?

Stand by the post box and send them the evidence of it having been resolved by HMRC.0

MichaelSo you've paid nothing to FedEx so far? Reads like FedEx paid HMRC at the Toys & Games rate, but they have now received that back and are invoicing you £28 at the correct 5% rate? How much was the initial duty and how much should it be at 5%?0 -
From the last email from the FedEx senior clearance broker stating the matter had been resolved with HMRC on September 14. With no further emails, letters or phone calls, I had (falsely) assumed everything had been sorted and they had cleared the fee as an apology and/or gesture of good faith. A few calculations, and the £28 is indeed the corrected customs fee which has now been paid, and what should have been the correct amount over a year ago...
Just irks me that there was no apology or anything for me running around fixing their serious mistake which was completely their fault, but when phoning them no one wanted to admit or take responsibility. Talked to so many managers, they just kept passing the buck.

It’s poor service, but you do owe the money and need to pay it.0
